Bump!

I am IN. Restarted kettlebell training & portion-controlling this weekend. However, I really do like what Beachlover had to say. Going to try & keep in mind as I move forward.

America's Test Kitchen has a 6 ingredient chocolate-hazelnut tart recipe (using Nutella) that will KICK YOUR *kitten*.

Wise words.Take this advice. I'm going to take it myself.

I so hear what you're saying. I walk faster than I can run. Seriously. As a super-speedy walker who is a very slow runner, I was given a piece of advice by a renowned trainer: "incline is speedwork in disguise". It seems to work for me. Maybe it will for you, too.

I don't know if you want to stick with the kettlebell or try something totally new, but if you were looking for new k-bell ideas I highly recommend Michelle Khai's Kettlenetics program. It's a little dance mixed with traditional k-bell. Lots of variety & fun. And she's not annoying.

I love the Kettlenetics program by Michelle Khai. It's traditional kettlebell combined with a little dance. She's a trainer for the Miami Ballet & a national weightlifting champion.

I love mine also & use it mainly for breakfast. I usually just grab a variety of fruits & some spinach, whip it all together & drink it on my way into work. I don't credit all of my weight loss to it, but as someone else posted, I do consider it a valuable tool. Oh & this too: easiest clean-up ever.

So far not so good but as someone else posted, I'm hoping I can end this month better than it started. Me: 0 The Binge: 3

I thought I remember hearing somewhere that the hard cheeses, like parmesan, were lower in calls/fat than the softer ones such as brie. True or false?
-
Cheese. And anything with cheese on it.

I personally know only one successful post-op person. Unfortunately, although she has been successful in losing almost 100lbs & maintaining her weight loss, she has not done & is not doing so healthily. She exists on the same unhealthy foods she ate pre-surgery, but now she can only manage to have a bite or two at a time…

The old-school advice of laying flat and still has actually been proven to extend recovery time, so don't go that route. Light to light-moderate activity like walking (or swimming like the last poster) and NSAIDS like ibuprofen (if you are able to take them) are both pretty helpful. Good luck!

*Struggling* to recover, myself. Brutal. Bumping....

It sounds similar to when I'd gotten a new, radically different haircut once & whenever I'd catch a glimpse of my reflection I'd have a split second of "who dafuq??" Your head just needs a minute to catch up with your body.

Body weights are effective but it's important to make sure you progress via harder moves, pauses, and elevation to continue to challenge yourself. I do body weight things 2/3 days a week (started 4 weeks ago or so, so I can confidently say most of my body changes are via heavy lifting.) mostly to help with my flexibility.…
-
Does anyone know if bodyweight squats/lunges/etc will build me an Azz, or does it have to be heavy lifting?
