Good advice! Thanks for sharing! I recently started working out with a friend who'd been trained professionally. That's what we do: push ups, planks, walking lunges with weights, squats, dips, leg and chest presses. I;ve seen more of an impact on my body in a short time than when going to gym and using the "machines".…

I have wanted to try this but can't find it locally. I found it on Amazon but I believe one has to be 8 or 12 jars. What if I don't like it? I LOVEEE pnut butter. So much that I can't keep it in the house. It's my weakness. I keep it at work. In the winter in a lunch bag in my car. I have some on a Joseph's flax wheat 1/2…

There are as many answers to this question as there are women on the planet. What's important is that you are both healthier and happy with your progress. I think Adam Levine is sexxy as hell ["yoga guy"]. I also think Tay Diggs is gorgeous. The two men couldn't be more different. Caucasian/lean/tattoed ...…

Haha ... love it! I also don't want to date a guy who is *prettier* than I am. Taking the manscaping a bit too far these days!

Me too ! When I see someone out jogging etc. I give them credit for doing it and think, "See? If they can do it, you can too!" I often wish them good thoughts too! :)

The jewelry shops here would not touch mine either - liability. Nor would Kmart of WalMart. I found a link online and opened it. I had to buy the battery and replace it myself. Which I am actually doing now! Wish me luck!

Those are some great sounding recipes! Thanks for sharing. I don't eat soy and was thinking of going toward the pea protein for protein shakes [with greek yogurt and fresh fruit], what is the consistency of the pea protein compared to whey? And the taste? Is it just as-or perhaps more easily- digested than whey? Thank you!

I don't care to eat for a while after waking and yet don't want to skip breakfast. I do the following: 1 scoop of protein powder 2-4 oz of non fat, plain chobani yogurt [or other similar brand with no extra sugar] fresh peaches or blueberries or strawberries [your favorites] And enough almond milk to get the consistency I…

That's great! I had gotten up to a 22 [and I'm short!] and said - enough is enough- ! When I hit 14 I was estatic! In fact, I kept going to the plus size of the store, even now, and my friends keep pulling me back to the "regular section". You should be so very proud of yourself! Size 12 is only around the corner!…

I literally "laughed out loud". She's a little scary ... but she gets results! Long as your abs don't look like hers when you're done! ;)

Saving to monitor thread. Nice of you to offer your services! I keep hearing nutrition is 80% of losing weight. [Lose weight in the kitchen, get fit in the gym.] Do you agree? Thank you.

Saving as a reference .. .thanks! :)

To me too! And 72 lbs is great! Maybe do a smaller workout one day, then rev it up the next? Still, 600 calories is one half a day's calories.

When my friends don't comment, I know it's bc they are busy. People have families...kids, school projects, husbands, .... jobs.... school. I don't comment on my friends every day... nor do they on mine. If you need constant input, perhaps you could make some friends in school or on your job... not everyone has the time to…

Ha! Too funny! And coming from MFP, it would probably be a healthy kidney! :)

HRM is heart rate monitor. Get one with a chest strap if you can, it's way more accurate. I was surprised to see how much I was *really* burning as opposed to me [lower] guess-timations of what my weight training was burnining. It's also very motivating to me ... I can do 25 more calories, what's 3 more minutes [tracks…

This definitely sounds like a question for a health care professional. :)

Maybe 120 is a good weight for you and your body recognizes it. A weight is just a # but other indicators will tell you in you're heathy or not. Also, muscle really does weight more than fat. Perhaps you've hit your goal weight without even knowing it. :) Some will say to spike your calories a day or a meal. I've found…

Emerald 100 calorie packs of Almonds. They have dry roasted, cinnamon roasted and cocoa roasted... so you have variety. :) Fiber one granola bars/ or brownies Luna bars/ protein bars Sugar free Jell-o or pudding Apples [so simple but SO good!] Grapes too. If you put one Splenda over hot popcorn it's like kettle corn.…

I'm guessing that's a lot of it. Some say women have twice as many words in a day as men do. [I'm sure that's a generelization.] But could account for him feeling he is in the minority here. We all belong! :)

Many studies suggest the best way to eat is small meals throughout the day. If you are under your calories, you could be eating too little? Instead of 3 main meals, try eating 5-6 small meals throughout the day. If you are working out now, your body may need more/different nutrients than before. Fresh veggies- "eat the…

I agree with the former posts, beating ourselves up won't help. I like what one lady said especially, draw a line under it, and start anew. I am having to do the same. After going to the gym for over 14 monts 5-6 days a week, and losing over 60 lbs, I've gone "off the wagon" for a month. It corresponds to the time I…

I saw a portion of the GMA show. I believe it was right after the children were sent to the hospital. Controversial to say the least.

@ Laughing Dani ... I was looking at your stats and, wow, you're nearing your goal! And you've lost a great deal of weight. Just wanted to say Kudos to you! :flowerforyou:

The trainer at the PF I go to gave me info on that. I was already using the basic principles. At first I thought he was wanting to sell me something, but he hasn't followed up with that. Which is good. It's cool you found what works for you. I'm motivated to get back to it now. Thanks for sharing!

Are you eating all the pre-workout? I couldn't eat all that and then workout. I can't tell you exactly what would work for you, but Greek yogurt 1/2 cup and maybe some berries would work for me. Then protein following the workout.

The general rule is: 220 - age in your case 220- 25 = 195 Times the rate you want to work out at [low intensity or high]. 65 % being low 85% being high As far as what's safe, that I can't answer.
