Does anyone know if you can change the battery yourself in the Polar FT4 heart rate monitor, or if there's someplace to bring it in to get it changed?

You just need a coin to open the back of the monitor.. and then it should pop off and then you can replace the battery.
You can also buy a battery and take it to a jewelry shop, and they can do it for you.0 -
Thanks! I know the jewelry shops around me won't do it. With my last one I went to three and they all refused. I tried replacing it myself but it broke.0

why would they refuse? That seems strange to me.0

The jewelry shops here would not touch mine either - liability. Nor would Kmart of WalMart. I found a link online and opened it. I had to buy the battery and replace it myself. Which I am actually doing now! Wish me luck!0
