Wow, that's quite a difference in reading isn't it?! I agree with the poster who said put a 5lb weight on it and see if it reads right. This is one of the reasons I have a love/hate relationship with the scale!

Yes, I think it would work. However, why would you just count calories when you can feed your body good, wholesome foods (that are usually less calories, eg fruits, vegetables). Personally I think eating the right type of foods is just as important as calories.

This morning I had muesli and on top I put 1/4 ruby grapefruit, 1 chopped kiwi fruit and 1 chopped plum! along with semi skimmed milk. It was yummy, gets my fruit (fibre) in and it fills me up

I go over my calories every Sunday. I eat whatever I want and sometimes I'm 2000 calories over. Just don't worry, this is a long term life change. it's not just a quick fix diet which we can suddenly stop one day. these over eating days just have to be factored in! Drink lots of water, get back to eating properly tomorrow…

I think it was a combination of a few things - Seeing pictures of myself and HATING them Knowing not only was I big, I was actually obese Sick of putting on a 'face' to everyone to hide the fact I hated my body so much. I always tried to be the funny, jokey one
