Looking at old pictures depresses me

I know I look good now, but I thought I looked good then. So I keep thinking that if I was inappropriately content then, am I inappropriately content now?

Snap. I completely understand where you are coming from. I was looking at old pictures of me just last night and I can't believe how big I actually was but at the time I didn't think I was that big, and I was happy. Weird what our minds can do x

I get paranoid that way, too. But trust me -- you look like Jillian's twin, so you're FINE!

    you look great now!

those old pictures should help motivate you to stay on track....because you shouldn't want to go back there.

I could have written what you did myself, as I think the same exact thing! I keep thinking....Am I going to look back at pics of me now and go: WTH was I thinking, thinking I looked good, or worse yet, wearing THAT???!!!LOL

Unless you are endangering your health, there is no such thing as inappropriately content. The whole "I can always be a little bit thinner, it'll make me feel a little better" is the way eating disorders start.

Huh. I have a different problem. I look at photos of myself in high school (15yrs ago), pictures where I am positively skinny, and remember I used to firmly believe I was a fat blimp. I look at photos from 12months ago, pictures where I am clinically obese, and remember thinking at the time I was 'a little overweight'.

I have learned I can't trust my judgement, and I will learn to trust my Dr and my BMI instead.

There's no such thing as inappropriately content. Good for you for being happy and confident at either stage.

i know what you mean about looking at old pics and remembering that you thought you looked fine...my brother in law showed me a few pics taken a couple of summers ago and i was in shock at how much heavier i looked (and of course was). at the time i thought that i was hiding my "extra lbs" fairly well but the camera don't lie. ugh!
i am still not content with my current weight but am at least taking the steps necessary to get to my goal weight :)
i did take a peak at your profile pics and you are looking great! am especially impressed with the definition of your arms!!

I think I look hugely fat, then see pictures and think bloody hell, I look thin. We all have our own freaky little version of dysmorphia.

Nope, your just confident in your own skin regardless. I think that's mostly a good thing. Rock on girlie! You look great btw ;)
