New scale is reading WAY differently!...

We needed a new accurate scale, & I found one at cvs for $10, and its EXTREMELY consistent, but its reading 348, when my starting weight was 353, and last week I weighed 319... How on earth do I make that transition?

make sure it's accurate by putting a 5 or 10 lb weight on it. Something must be wrong.0

Sorry, but chances are a $10 scale isn't going to be that accurate. Consistency doesn't equal accurate.0

it doesnt matter what the scales read per se what you need is something to measure you on so now you have new scales just use them and forget the old scales readings
you will know when you are comfortable with your weight so you stop then :00 -
Wow, that's quite a difference in reading isn't it?!
I agree with the poster who said put a 5lb weight on it and see if it reads right.
This is one of the reasons I have a love/hate relationship with the scale!0 -
Actually the same exact thing happened to me. My husband and I were using a really cheap $14 dollar scale from walmart and it said I was 212 which I thought was accurate until it broke and we got a new scale. I decided to get a really fancy electronic one I found cheap online, I was super excited until it said that I was 246, it literally felt like I gained 34 pounds out of no where. I agree that you put a 10 pound weight on it to make sure it is accurate.0

I am on my 3rd scale. My first one was always 10 pounds under what the doctors office said so naturally the doctor's scale MUST be wrong.....not. So I bought a new one in August and have been using that, I think I paid $35 for it. But it is too inconsistent and gives me a different weight in the same location or if I move it in the bathroom (and usually 2-5 pounds difference! I read reviews about it and everyone said the same thing.....inconsistent. So with out re-tiling my floor and getting out the level, I went on Amazon and bought the scale that was getting almost 5 stars by all the consumers. It came today and tomorrow is weigh in day. So fingers crossed it is reliable. It was $29 and made by Eatsmart-they have a website too.0

But see here's the problem, I have my starting weight tattooed on my wrist as 353, lol. Based on my old scale....hindsight being 20/20, should have gone to the dr to get THAT weight first, but there's a dr's scale in my gym, and it was always pretty close. I think I'm going to get new batteries for the old scale to see if that makes it more consistent, and if it does, gonna return the new one.0
