  • Beans, green vegetables are both high in iron and green vegetables are a good source of calcium. Also use rice or almond milk enriched with calcium. If you need additional calcium try a calcium supplement. Great for calming the nervous system.
  • Yeah the typical high animal protein western diet isn't very good on the digestive system. Beef is high in fat and a heavy task for the digestive system. Try eliminating beef and replace with fish or plant protein sources like beans, nuts, tofu.
  • So you are saying sugar from fruit is bad?
  • Yes sugar is sugar, but sugar from fruits are already broken down ready for use and are coupled with fiber and nutrients to aid in efficient digestion. You can't get this from a candy bar. Fruits help to increase fullness and satisify micronutrients without a large caloric requirement.
  • I never said decrease in protein. I said decrease in animal protein (higher fat) and can be replaced with vegetable/beans/nuts protein sources.
  • Fruit sources of sugar aren't bad for you. Yes it would be smart to eat more fruit if you plan to be very active that day, if not it will be stored as fat.
  • Protein supplements don't directly aid weight loss. If you want to lose weight then reevaluate your daily diet and decrease the amount of animal protein (dairy, meat, eggs) and eliminate refined white carbohydrates. Include and increase your fruit and vegetable consumption, they will make you more full with every meal and…
  • I'd suggest almond, soy, or rice milk. If you must have cheese then try raw goat cheese yes it's dairy but the lactose is reduced during the fermentation process. I personally don't suggest eating dairy since it's high in fat and an animal protein source, but your choice. Also try some almond cheeses.
  • Organic is food that hasn't been genetically modified or grown with conventional pesticides and herbicides. They are also higher in vitmain and mineral values. Going organic is a much better value, yes it's more expensive but it's worth it.
  • Inuit people live in harsh climates where fat is used as protection not as a supplement to their daily diet. Carbohydrates are needed for many metabolic functions. Carbohydrates don't make you fat if that's why you are avoiding them.
  • Yeah I do lemon water in the morning half an hour before eating. Helps to promote an alkaline environment, and drinking water before eating also aids in organ function.
  • Your body does need a "break" from toxins. You even suggested avoiding processed foods that contain toxins because they will make you feel better. So in essence you do then need a "break".
  • A detox is not a purchased product, it is a time period where one stops their regular diet to let the body begin repairing the issue causing problems. Juicing and fasting allows for the body to receive nutrients and proper rest so it doesn't need to worry about heavy foods needing processing. That's a detox. I don't care…
  • I don't mean a literal break. I meant to "lighten the load" of their work. Don't take things to literal if they don't make logical sense it makes you sound a little obsessive.
  • No proof? Let's not get started on what some medical journals are willing to publish versus not. I've seen first hand what detoxing and proper dieting do to people with stomach issues, obesity, women health, etc. I don't say this because I've heard it, I say it because I've seen it.
  • The western diet is filled with sodium and omega 6 fatty acids and low in vitamins and minerals. This combination creates acidic and inflammatory environments within the body. Of course a proper "clean" diet is what should be recommended. Statins and heart surgeries don't remove the issue of heart disease they just mask it.
  • Detoxing is a good thing to do. Yes your kidneys, liver, and skin are detoxifying organs but the reason for a detox is to give these organs a break and not have to focus on anything else but the impurities already in your body. Detoxing is even more necessary if you have had a history of bad eating and have medical…
