Elomi makes very good ones. They are expensive, but comfortable. They even make a swim bra that you can wear as a bikini top or under another swimsuit. Look on websites such as Her Room or Bare Necessities. Good luck.

Good luck! Please come back and tell us how it goes!

Hello, I have fibromyalgia, DJD, arthritis, etc., and I'm recovering from some acute injuries/surgeries on top of that. I have had the same problem with the vicious cycle of pain/can't exercise/weight gain/more pain. I have found that the best place to start is in the water. Ask your doctor about aquatic physical therapy.…

I have bought some very nice workout stuff from Kohl's recently. Champion also has a small selection of plus-size items. Their t-shirts are nice and long, but a little skimpy. Nordstrom and Junonia also have nice things, but they're very expensive.

Great post!

Hi, I've had quite a hectic few days, but didn't want to ignore your post. Will send you a proper response soon. Thanks!

This might not work for you if you are a true wine aficionado, but here's what I do: choose a drier wine than I would normally enjoy, and mix it with club soda or Diet Sprite. It's still enjoyable, but cuts the calories in half.

AnnieChani! I'm so sorry....I stopped checking this thread after a few days, and just now noticed your reply. Do you still want to be "twins"?

My thoughts exactly. I will remember this picture when I'm tempted to overeat.

Best of luck tomorrow! Please come back soon and tell us how you're doing.

Please don't feel like a failure. I am in my mid-40s, and my body is definitely reacting differently than it did on other weight loss attempts. I had a really big loss the first week, then gained it back and took a couple of weeks to lose it again. But since then I have lost 1-2 pounds per week. I guess it takes longer to…

OP, I think your points are very valid. Change is scary for everybody. You have gotten some good advice here. I think things will begin to improve for you if you can get to a point where staying the same is scarier than changing. I have gotten to that point because the medical problems I've begun to develop are scarier…

Hello, I too can relate to the feelings of re-gaining lost weight and trying to stick with my own habits instead of keeping up with a DH who has a much higher metabolism. I think you've gotten some good advice here. You and anyone else on this thread are welcome to friend me. Sharing support has been very helpful since…

Hi, I am considering being sleeved so I follow these threads to learn from others. Could baby food help in a situation like this? Good luck to you! I hope you feel better soon.

Aw, I did something very similar a few days ago. I know how you feel. Tomorrow will be better.

I would join as well. Please add me. Thanks!

Hello, I agree with others who commented that you might do better with a goal of 1 or 1.5 pounds per week. I had a big loss my first week, then a gain, and then a couple of weeks of small losses or staying the same. It took about a month for me to start losing at my goal rate. Best of luck to you.

I'm here every day, and I have a long way to go. I've found other members' encouragement to be very helpful, and try to encourage others as well. Everyone on this thread is welcome to add me!

Good luck to you. I look forward to hearing how it goes.

Oh Chelekaz, I feel your pain. Two years ago I was working with a personal trainer 2x/wk, working out on my own 1-2x/wk, and taking tennis lessons. I was mildly obese but making great progress at gaining muscle and losing fat. Since then I have been diagnosed with several different arthritic conditions of the joints and…

Yes, definitely look for a new doctor. You need one who listens to you and actually hears you. Good luck and keep up the excellent work!

Please don't take your mom's comments too seriously. It sounds like you are doing everything right and she just wasn't used to seeing you with a hearty appetite. Keep up the good work!

I tried Chobani once and didn't like it at all. Thanks to the tips here, I will try it in a smoothie with fruit, ice, and maybe some Splenda.

Mid-40s here. I feel much younger in spirit, but I definitely feel myself fighting gravity and the changing hormones now. Everyone on this thread is welcome to add me as a friend.

To reduce the stress on my joints and back so I won't suffer as much from my arthritis and fibromyalgia. So I can participate in fun activities instead of just watching. So my son will be proud of me and not embarrassed. So I can dance at his bar mitzvah (and later his wedding...and later his son's bar mitzvah) and look…

I think you're smart to notice your weight gain and do something about it while it's small. If I had gotten serious when I was 20 pounds above my ideal weight, I would never have gotten to be 100 pounds overweight. I think the issue is that you need to choose your audience carefully. You won't get much sympathy from people…

At one time I allowed myself a "free meal" right after my weekly weigh-in, and then after awhile it became a "free day," and then it extended further and had a hard time getting back on track. So I'm trying to avoid that. At this point I'm going to try to budget "a little something" into my plan once in awhile if I really…

Hello, I am also the only plus-sized person in my circle of friends...the largest by far. I'm 5'4" and wearing a size 22. I'm very much into short-term goals for now, so I'm looking to lose 1-2 pounds a week, every week. Eventually I hope to be OUT of plus sizes. Our family has a big life cycle event coming up in January…

Hi, Sealevels! You and anyone else on this thread should feel free to add me. I'm here several times a day. I have around 100 pounds to lose and I really think it will help to have supportive friendships here.

Hello and welcome, Peggy! You and everyone else on this thread may feel free to add me as a friend as well. I also have around 100 pounds to lose. I'm already struggling with many physical problems due to my weight, and desperately trying to avoid the diabetes and heart disease that run in my family. There's strength in…
