If you are eating only 1200 calories, I urge you to eat back your exercise calories.

I hear you about not having much wiggle room. Are you exercising? If yes, be sure to log some of your exercise calories and you might have more wiggle room, to add in another “treat” .

What about using a slow-cooker? Plan ahead and shop for the ingredients. Then in the morning u toss it all together and it cooks all day. When u r hungry for dinner guess what-it’s ready!

Agree. It is not up to you to plan his menu or balance his macros. If he really truly wants to do this, he will do this without relying on you to facilitate it.

My first thought about “egg white powder” would be a product used by serious long distance backpackers. What are the suggested usage instructions on the package?

You ask if a crazy cheat day is allowed. Yes, it is allowed. The calorie police will not take you to jail. however, you likely will need more time to reach a specific weight loss goal, if you are actively organizing for these crazy cheat days, as you call it. I also don’t like the terms cheat days or cheat meals because to…

I don’t do cheat meals or cheat days because I feel the connotation of “cheat” being a bad thing. And i am not a bad person because of what I eat. So instead, sometimes I just take time off from tracking. for me, it’s because I get weary of logging. Lately, I take sundays off from tracking. I give myself permission to eat…

Yes, weighing in grams will be the most precise. At first, it may feel tedious, but after a short while, it will become routine and commonplace.

If you are interested in losing weight, you will need to get yourself into a Calorie deficit. You mentioned that you are dieting 16 hours a day and eating in an 8 hour window. That approach in and of itself will not guarantee you are in a calorie deficit. MFP will guide you in calculating your daily calorie goal, and then…

I sometimes use this little tactic: I ask myself, “ are you hungry enough to eat an apple?” If my answer is NO, then I guess I’m not really hungry-maybe I’m just bored, or frustrated, or tired or stressed. And so I don’t eat anything, and just wait for the next meal. If my answer is YES, then I will eat... an apple. ( it…

When I was a kid, my grandma had me convinced that a sandwich cut on the diagonal actually tasted better. I still cut it diagonal sometimes and think of her. :)

I think a 25 g fiber goal is appropriate. But there are plenty of days I eat 35g fiber. How much fiber are you currently consuming each day (on average)?

Hello! This is all a learning process for all of us. One thing that really helped me tighten up my logging, and therefore have a more accurate calorie log, was when I learned from fellow MFP’ers the value of searching for usda food entries for fresh or unprocessed food. For example, instead of finding an entry for “medium…

This week I made a rice pudding with pineapple. Using almond milk. It was so good for breakfast.

Hi ! Does your family like crunchy snacks? If yes, then maybe some raw veggies like carrot, celery, bell peppers, cucumber, and maybe with some hummus for dipping. Or maybe a coleslaw with cabbage, carrot, and a yummy dressing. Does your family enjoy soup? Then maybe a minestrone soup. The above suggestions are all really…

Hi beckys19, I recommend the book “Bread Winners” by Mel London. The copy I have is copyright 1979. Maybe your library has it.

I think there is no harm in experimenting with eating differently, or trying different skin cae products. Each of us is different, and each of us will react (or not react) to different foods or skin care ingredients. I grew up in a 4-food groups family. Eat dairy products because it is healthy! When I was a kid, my mom…

What about your iron? Maybe a bit of anemia?

Maybe some applesauce? Or a very light soup or broth?

I would recommend a digital food scale, so u can measure and log your food in grams. That is the most accurate method. It is more accurate than measuring cups.

I learned this tip from my uncle. If u will be at a hotel without a fridge...as soon as u arrive, take one of the empty waste paper baskets in the room, and fill it up with ice from the ice machine at your hotel. I would put the ice in a clean plastic bag. Then put the items into the plastic bag filled with ice, put th…

Some fresh or dried fruit? Sugar free jello? Sugar free pudding?

I am certainly not a 100% Whole Foods vegan. Not by any stretch of the imagination. However, when I plan my food choices to be more plant based and less processed and lower fat, then I find that the “junky” food I used to love just doesn’t taste as wonderful. I think that is our bodies way of saying sometimes, “hey, maybe…

I know that I am sensitive to dairy. The less dairy I consume the better my complexion is-acne, rosacea redness. Also, since I cut way way back, much less mucous/phlegm. I don’t think everyone is as sensitive to dairy, But anyone who is curious can give it a try and reflect on it.

I suspect the reason the burrito bowl kept you full is because of the fiber—-beans, guacamole, ingredients like that.

When you log these meals into MFP, are you over or under your daily calorie goal? My thought is that even when traveling, meals, snacks, and beverages can be logged.
