  • Where do you buy your riced cauliflower? It's twice as expensive where I shop.
  • I don't get why anyone buys prepackaged cauliflower rice. It takes me all of 30 seconds to rice cauliflower using my blender.
  • Thanks! I won't be near Berlin, but I might visit, so that will be a good place to check out.
  • I realize that. I mean the carb count. You'll see that 20g is 80 calories and 17 carbs, while 1 ounce is 85 calories and 13 carbs with 11 of those being dietary fiber. Even the calorie count is off: if 20g is 80 calories, it is 4 calories per gram; if 1 ounce is 85 calories, it is 3.03 calories per gram.
  • I saw that, but the nutrition facts for 20g compared to 1 ounce are completely different, leading me to have trouble believing either entry.
  • But that's just from what the water extracts from the beans themselves. I'm going to be eating the beans.
  • Maybe grinding up some pork rinds might help give that crumbly consistency.
  • It just means that I'm not losing as quickly as I was at the beginning of my diet. I've been eating this way since May. Went from 165 to 146. I'm 5'2" and pretty much sedentary, so I'm losing about .5 a week at my current intake. The only reason my protein intake is so great is because I bake with protein powder and eat a…
  • Embarrassed to admit this, but I really enjoy water + vinegar + pumpkin spice + splenda. It kind of fizzes up and tastes like apple cider.
  • I used the cinnamon spice pork rind cake recipe above and added cocoa powder. Used liquid splenda. Instead of heavy cream, I used pumpkin spice protein powder mixed with 1/2 cup almond milk. Boiling coffee instead of water. I added zucchini, too, to add some more substance. Carrots would probably be delicious, but they're…
  • When you shamelessly exhaust your day's calories and carb ration on a chocolate pork rind cake with avocado cream cheese frosting.
  • I feel like keto works best for me because I feel obligated to stick with it. I don't allow myself cheat days, since I'm worried I'll fall out of fat-adapted mode.
  • Instead of eating pizza and cookies at a party today, I made my own low carb pizza and brought that. Left feeling proud of myself and not deprived.
  • Epsom salt baths might not help sore muscles, but they will certainly give you psychic powers.
  • I feel the same way. Persimmons are coming into season, and I've decided to go off my diet one day and devote all that day's calories to persimmons, squash, and apples.
  • I like to make low carb 'pancakes' 4 large eggs 2 tbsp cream cheese (I've used less or more, sometimes low-fat or that greek yogurt/cheese blend) 1-2 packets splenda or a dash liquid spenda 1/8 tsp salt 1/4 tsp cream of tartar (optional) 1. separate egg yolks from egg whites, making sure not to get yolk in your whites. 2.…
  • When I used the rowing machine, I saw some nice veins in my arms and baby forearm muscles. :D
  • Haha, I have similar thoughts. Especially regarding self defense. One of the reasons I want to try out Krav Maga.
  • That...most likely doubles the calories in it. 1 tbsp of coconut oil is approximately 120 calories. If you add that to a 100 calorie portion of cooked rice, you've more than doubled the calories
  • I made some delicious peanut cookies yesterday. The ingredients were: 1 egg 1/2 cup peanut butter (I used unsweetened natural) 1/2 scoop protein powder (I used trutein, which had 1.5 net grams per serving) 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp baking powder 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder 1/4 cup peanuts sweetener to taste…
  • I go to the gym 2-3 times a week and walk 2-2.5 miles 2-3 times per week. When I go the gym, I lift weights, so I'm not sure how many calories that burns. 138 is around 26 BMI, I think. I just don't like how I look right now and I want to get in shape before a few events that are coming up. I entered my info into the…
  • I intend to.
  • I'm still eating some veggies on it, I just can't eat the pounds upon pounds of carrots, turnips, rhutabagas, etc. that I used to eat. I've been sticking with leafy greens.
  • I appreciate your suggestion, but what makes you think I'll be overweight? Because I decided to try a low carb diet? I'm not so inept that I can't count calories, thank you.
  • What makes you think I will gain weight? I've maintained at 140 for a year before actually deciding to try Atkins. Just because I wanted to try a new diet doesn't mean that I was actively gaining on the last one or that as soon as I reach my goal weight, I'll stuff my face with doritos and chocolate.
  • Putting it at .5 a week only raises it be 200...
  • Yeah, about 2 lbs per week so far, but that may just be water weight. MFP is telling me 1200 for a weekly deficit of 1 lb/week. I'll see what reducing it to .5 a week does.
  • You should try melting coconut oil, cocoa powder, splenda, and some peppermint extract. Tastes just like thin mints, except, well, without the wafers haha. I like to melt them into muffin tins.
