I'm starting week two of my first ever Dry January. Got through my first weekend. It wasn't too bad - I am known for my "Cocktail of the Week" pictures and haven't heard from anyone that they were missed so...I am waiting for the better sleep/weight loss benefits to kick in but either way the feeling good about…
-
This may come off as strange but the best thing about being on maintenance is being on "this side of it". I don't have to lose weight ever again. I'm not just starting out and looking every little thing up in MFP. I don't have to "blow it" and start over. Yay! Maintenance is awesome! And hard work! And a mind game! :-)

50 calories for 2 tablespoons of creamer in my coffee everyday x 1200 days = 60000. Or 17 lbs. I don't track my coffee creamer :-)
-
For me it was on track (what MFP would say). I lost half about a week for a year and then steady declines over the next year to reach my goal. I've lost 43 lbs. Slow and steady wins the race.

It really depends on the goal right? I'm trying to focus right now on being able to include a cocktail on most days till after quarantine  But seriously I'm trying to get more protein than carbs

Babyback ribs aren't beef they're pork which is the international symbol for fat :-) :)

I do Prosecco on the regular because it's low in calories and delish!

I hear you - how old is your child with autism? Perhaps when he/she is in therapy you can grab some time to write down your plan or perhaps "whatever the kids are having" could be something geared more toward your goals? I know having a child with special needs is hard - especially when they're young it feels endless -…

Push ups are a great way to get toned arms as they do target a lot of the muscles in your arms and chest. I got a lot of tone doing a workout series that focused on a LOT of pushups.

Welcome and good luck!

Why on earth would you weigh yourself the day after you went out for drinks?
-
Instead of saying you fell off the wagon and have to restart maybe you can start where you are and meet yourself there. What good things are you already doing. Also you mention this has happened before - maybe the key is not to take a break - if the protocol you're following when you're on the wagon is sustainable there…

Amen and good night sista!! When that button clicked in my head after decades "diets to follow" I reached my goal and eat ALL the foods!

My lifelong as long as I can remember weight was 150. FINALLY reached that this September. By this time next year I want to be at 145 which I have not weight since birth :-)

Happy weekend before Thanksgiving: This week I'm trying to be on point the days when it won't be an extravaganza of eating: SW - 151.2 lbs 11-19 - 150.4 (-.8) 11-26 12-03 12-10 12-17 12-24 GW - 148 Hope you all have a healthy happy weekend!!!

This first week is a for sure challenge - one birthday dinner and a 20th anniversary day off planned and dinner out for my anniversary on Saturday and then the big eat a week from today. I am taking each day one at a time and making my plan ahead of time so I don't get overwhelmed. Have a great day everyone!

My goal weight is 145 so I hope I'm still welcome. I want something to help me not gain a bunch of weight during the next six weeks. SW - 151.2 lbs 11-19 11-26 12-03 12-10 12-17 12-24 GW - 148

So one thing that helped me a lot in the beginning was to imagine how many hands had touched the food in the break room. How many of those people can be trusted to have washed their hands? Ewww gross I know but man oh man was that a deterrent. I also had to avoid the break room for a long while when I knew I wouldn't make…

Hopefully this worked. I am at 190 in the first picture and in the second picture in the purple 148. Slow but steady!

Haha no worries - I searched on Amazon but every time I searched for 17.5 it gave me 12.5 options

Thanks this makes a lot of sense!! I will try this method!

Anyone in the group doing LIIFT4?

I just finished P90X3 and it was amazing. People would just marvel at how different I looked. Plus I feel pretty badass!!

Hannah it is so refreshing to see some who also did a slow and steady lose. It took me a bit under 2 years to lose 30 lbs. I am happy it took this long because I know it's going to stick. Good luck!!

Yaaasss with a side of fries!

Congrats on your success! It's funny but my whole life I've heard about "the switch" going off for people who succesfully lost and kept off weight. It wasn't until I experienced it for myself that I believed this really happens :-)
