  • laughed out loud at that
  • Canned Tuna, olive oil, mustard, capers and zucchini. :) But that was years ago. :)
  • Rather than running daily alternate, you could choose swimming (an excellent whole body workout with low impact) or weight training (to add resistance training in). That way you're meeting your goal of training daily, but you're alternating how you stress your muscles.
  • Speaking of Nerd Fitness, he has two great bodyweight work outs, Beginner and Advanced.
  • I would alternate 3 days a week of running (I second the C25K recommendation) and 3 days a week of compound lifts, I recommend Stronglifts 5X5. You are most likely to see the results in the mirror you want from including resistance training in your plan.
  • So when I saw your picture I immediately thought of my inspiration picture. So if you think she looks good in a bikini then I think you look basically the same (just less tan.)
  • I am overweight and I alternate between outside and inside. I prefer running outside from a holistic experience perspective. However when I'm getting back into it the treadmill is less intimidating... I can always hop off and I'm a finite distance from a bathroom, my car, etc... :) Also as a fat person I personally find it…
  • Yes, because I know if I didn't we'd either eat takeaway or I'd get mad that I work all day and then have to come home and cook. I usually do this: Wash/Cut/Prep all veg* Slice/Dice onions, peppers, mushrooms, carrots, celery, cabbage, scallions, etc... * de-stem/chop kale, broccoli, cauliflower * skin and cube butternut…
  • I checked your diary and there are a couple things I would do:* Start Swapping your breakfast from oats to eggs. You don't have to do that every day, but maybe alternate your breakfasts. It looks like some days you like breakfast on the go, so making egg muffins in advance might work for you. (Sautee up some veg and…
  • I make my own. I start with homemade mayo (it's basically an egg and avocado oil, lime juice, and mustard powder) and then I add things, lemon juice, garlic, parsley, etc... there are a ton of good recipes out there. I basically want a salad dressing with no sweetener and no preservatives.
  • Her problem isn't eating before bed, it's overeating before bed. The poster's recommendation was eat more earlier so you don't over eat. It's about managing your hunger effectively so you don't overeat (at any time) not eating at specific times.
  • You may want to consider weight lifting if it's body composition issue, rather than a healthy weight issue. I know you are doing yoga but you may need the additional resistance to see the muscle shapes you want.
  • Outside of all the stuff with injury (which you should definitely account for) including walking into your running training is really important (even if you're not fat) because it helps train your heart. I'm sure you've heard the advice, "If you can't carry on a conversation when running then you need to slow down." I have…
  • Just give yourself to repeat days/weeks as needed. I have frequently found I need to do Week 5 Twice before I'm ready to move on...
  • I agree with some of the above. I would love to go clothes shopping and know that the more fashionable clothes are going to fit me well. I would love to go to the beach and not feel self conscious about being fat. I would love to be as comfortable with my body as my husband is. I guess I feel like the hardest part of being…
  • This. I eat eggs every. single. day.
  • That's awesome! A similar success I had today was take a walk while on a phone call during lunch. I ended up walking for at least an hour!
  • Solve for x here.
  • Your issue might be like mine... Just don't make it 20 years like I have... visual of my issue here.
  • I love it. But I do not like it in hot coffee. I have a dairy sensitivity so I just learned to drink it black.
  • Typically, 3 eggs cooked in a bit of coconut oil, a serving of fruit (usually berries) and water and coffee. If I know I have a busy week I do make ahead egg muffins with spinach or kale, onion, mushrooms, and chicken apple sausage.
  • One idea that may help, that I have found true for me: If working out is a fairly new habit for you, you may be over doing it. I find I am less hungry and experience better losses if, when I'm getting back into regular fitness, I limit it to a point I'm almost embarrassed. AKA C25K, the workouts are 25-30 minutes…
  • I think my "ah ha" craving is really a lack of craving. I look forward to all my meals, and I like the variety of foods we eat, but I think I've finally figured out how to eat nutritiously enough that I rarely "crave" anymore. Except occasionally for Whiskey Soda... ;)
  • I agree with everyone saying it's a good idea to check with your doctor in case it's related to your healing process. However, from my own personal experience I can say when I feel sluggish in the afternoon there are usually one of two culprits, and your diary suggests it could be either one.* I'm eating too much sugar (of…
  • Kale, I chose to adapt to the flavor because it's so stinking good for you.
  • I've made egg foo yong... I use the recipe from Well Fed, or the blog the clothesmakethegirl.com It's a household favorite. Biggest recommendation? Use a non-stick pan.
  • Honestly, I've been a few cruises and have usually (without trying) lost weight. But I'm pretty sedentary in my normal life and pretty active on vacation. I love food and "food experiences" so I eat in the dining rooms and order all the fancy courses. I pretty much don't snack though, because I don't want to pay for it and…
  • Don't feel confined to typical "breakfast" foods for breakfast. If you're going to make that you're main meal of the day, consider making a "main meal." I would use my crockpot religiously, throwing ingredients in the night before and waking up to delicious stews or pulled pork, or pot roast. :) Also, I prefer cooked to…
  • I seem to lose it all over, I don't tend to lose much from my chest, and my face looks thinner first, and then it sort of is all over. Which means I lose clothing sizes very slowly, but look better in my clothes week over week.
  • We just did shopping, this week we are having: BBQ Pulled Pork w/ Coleslaw & Yam Fries Had: Pork, Coconut Oil, homemade Mayo, Spices Bought: Tomatoes, Onions, Apples, Yams, Cabbage Mix Paleo Pad Thai Had: Sunbutter, spices, coconut milk Bought: Chicken, Snap Peas, spaghetti squash, onion, zucchini, and shiitake mushrooms…
