I agree with you 100%. However, I am personally a lot more motivated to go work out when I feel confident in myself as opposed to when people make me feel bad about myself.

I LOVE J. COLE!!! I get a lot of my workout music from the pandora stations Today's R&B and Hip Hop Hits, as well as Dance Pop Radio. I also use the app 8Tracks. I really like lifting/doing cardio to trap music (both on the rap music side and the EDM side). If you're interested, I can make a blog post with some of my…

Congrats to everyone who is working towards their goals! We are all strong and amazing!!

Congratulations!! I agree that BMI can be a load of garbage because it doesn't take into account body composition, but I look forward to being in a "healthy" range, too. High five!

I'm sorry you're getting rude responses to your question! Don't let people discourage you! Just having the desire to do better is awesome!

Good idea. I really like lifting, a LOT, and I kind of hate doing cardio... But I got a fitbit about 3 weeks ago. You can do challenges with your friends to see who can get the most steps, and because I want to beat all my friends, I have been doing tons of cardio ever since I got one... I'm looking a little slimmer, I'm…

Do you have an iPad?! I have heard of people losing tons of weight by getting an ipad and watching a 45 minute or 1 hour show on Netflix while on the exercise bike or elliptical!!

I started counting macros, which means that I figure out exactly how many grams of each macro I want to have each day. This way, instead of just filling myself up with whatever, I'm properly fueling my body. When I started, I realized I was getting WAAAAAY more carbs than I ought to, and that I should cut down on carbs and…

I only eat clean because my stomach is so sensitive, I get so sick when I don't... If I could, I think I would live on Oreos and waffles.

Yes!! I don't weigh myself that often anymore because I haven't lost a pound, but if I look at pics of myself from January, I am WAAAY slimmer and more muscular!
-
Oh my gosh this is EXCELLENT!! Thank you!!!!

I know, right?! If you don't eat string cheese correctly, it's not nearly as satisfying :p

Mm thanks everyone, great ideas!! Bacon jerky sounds DELISH!! And why did I never think of dark chocolate?!

Go on YouTube and look up les mills body pump! It is a class that is offered at many gyms. It's like group lifting, full-body. Do you have a gym membership? If so, they will often do a free trial session for personal training. See if that is an option for you. I recommend it because without proper form and instruction, it…

-
i agree with all of the above... lifting heavy is how you make your beautiful muscles grow!

I want more friends! Especially goal-oriented people who work out hard and LOVE LIFTING!!!

Staying really hydrated is important. Also, fun fact is that you have an organ in your abdomen called your omentum, and it holds on to a lot of fat if you don't get sufficient sleep. So make sure you are getting good sleep. :) and of course, eat healthy foods and exercise!

Me too!! I love new friends and encouraging each other!! (Just no flirtatious dudes please)

I just learned in November that I am gluten-sensitive! It's been interesting to learn how to deal with it, and awesome to know how to NOT feel like garbage every day! I used to make a lot of homemade breads, but now I'm eating a lot more veggies, which is good. I'm trying to learn how to make gluten-free breads but it's…
