Hi Imarsh81! I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes (DM). I have been a RN for >31 years and have worked as a case manager to help diabetics manage DM for much of my career. The good news is a 10% weight loss can significantly improve your health and DM. It is hard to eat 3 meals per day and snacks if the next meal…

Hi everyone, I have not been on the site since 2013 and not sure I am posting correctly. I have had BED since age 4 and am now 54. I have had many years binge free but the last 10+ years I have really been struggling. I have been to several treatment centers for food addiction/binging and purging and drug and alcohol…

HI there! Feel free to add me as a friend. I started MFP 17 days ago and have found it to be very helpful. Feel free to send an email anytime if you want to share more. I get back to them as soon as a I can. I am sorry you are struggling due to medical issues. I totally understand that. Liz

Welcome! The allotted calories will help you meet your weight loss goals that you set. I personally never eat back the exercise calories and my goal is to eat close to allotted calories, 100 below or above.

1200 calories is way to low. For a 5'7 woman 1500-1700 is the range.

Do you have any idea what has caused him to change his eating habits? Did something happen to him recently or when this started that may have triggered something in him? Financial concerns, job issues, family issues? You said you have thought about taking him to someone. Who are you thinking of a therapist? A physician?…

Thanks for reaching out. It shows how courageous you are to ask for help. I am so sorry for your losses. Losing your dad who sounds like he was your rock had to shake your very foundation. Being in an abusive relationship for the amount of years you were it is amazing you have been able to leave that situation. I am so…

You have actually done great. You have lost about 1+ pound per week. What is your height? Are you eating enough calories?
-
That was a great choice you made early this morning to exercise. So you make a poor food choice, at the next meal make better choices. I have found for me over many years of beating myself up and man can I beat myself up, that never once did it help motivate me to change. NOT ONCE! Think about all of us with the same goals…

I agree totally with this. Once levels corrected and maintained with synthroid you no longer have hypothyroidism symptoms. You can take this off the list of things that make it difficult to reach my weight loss goals.

Feel free to friend me. I have only been on MFP a little over a week but have been on every day and that is one of my commitments. What would best support you? What is your biggest challenge? Mine has been binging for a very long time. It is hard to break that pattern but every day that is my goal. So far so good. Liz

I love reading all of the posts. I relate to all of them!! Liz

Feel free to add me.

Everyone has had good points. It is clear you are struggling with this. My thought is if you have already said to your spouse how important it is for you to lose weight and would like his support and was specific what support you would like, not fixing 2 meals per day, then I would not address it again. If you have not…

Any nipping, tucking, lifting that I may need!

The doctor should take the time to answer all your questions. I suggest you make a list of all your questions and make an appointment to be seen to just talk about your questions and concerns. You deserve to know what is just going to be like this, what is something you need to see medical, and what can you do to make it…

What do you consider restricting? What do you consider a binge?

I think everybody offered sage advice. That is a lot of loss and joy. My boyfriend died suddenly the end of 2005 at age 41. About a year later I was in a downward spiral, developed clinical depression that was quite severe and returned to old pattern of binging. I gained over 100 pounds in a very short time and now am…

You all are great! Thanks for all the information. I have not done the right over left stretch in a long time and actually forgot about it. Thanks lisaanhorowitz. I will check out IT band stretch link and search online other core exercises. Have a great day everyone!!
