You are AMAZING. Congratulations on achieving so much in such a short period of time!! I'm so glad you chose MFP, it enabled you to learn how to make permanent and healthier lifestyle changes that you will benefit rrom for the rest if your life! Surgery would have been easy in some ways, but there is no guarantee that you…

Congratulations on finding something that works for you and for making such great progress already!! Do you plan on reincorporating sweet/sugary foods once you reach your maintenance weight or are you planning to make this a lifelong change?
-
Yup.

I'm not remotely low carb and I've lost 30lbs so far. I focus on maintaining an adequate deficit and having proper nutrients in my diet, but I've never put any food "off limits." I might limit the portions compared to how I used to eat (and I tend to crave less junk food now, which is a fun perk) but that's about it.

I'm 28, so almost not in my 20s anymore lol. Feel free to add if you'd like.

You. Are. Incredible. Thank you for posting this again and sharing your amazing journey with us. Seeing where you were and where you are now... Wow. I don't have enough words to properly articulate the extraordinary accomplishments you've achieved. Incredible. I know it sounds cliche, but you are inspiring so many of us…

Exactly. I've had days and weekends where I messed up. I'd eat my way through half my pantry and all my emotions. Or I'd have friends/family over and decide enjoying myself meant more than logging every single bite. Regardless of the "why" I got back up and kept going. One mistake (even one hundred mistakes) doesn't mean…

I'll look into that, thanks!!

Bodies develop chemical dependencies to substances such as caffeine and nicotine. And both caffeine and nicotine withdrawal can definitely cause headaches (as well as fatigue, irritability, etc). Especially if you consumed a fairly high quantity, which multiple cans of soda during the day could fall under this category,…

That's what I figured. Several other commenters that have given me some ideas as to what I might be able to do. It might not be as much as I'd like, but it's far better than what I'm doing now. :)

That does actually sound helpful :) I have nerve pain as well, but I've become far more aware over the years how to manage it appropriately so it's not been as troublesome. Still there, just easier to work around than my joints when they act up. I'll try doing heavier lifting but spread further apart and work on figuring…

What incredible progress!!! You look amazing!

Way to go!!! That is a huge achievement. :D Your starting weight and mine are the same, although you've gone farther than I have in your journey toward becoming healthier. Hopefully I can post something like this in 2014! Would you mind if I added you?

Prior to getting healthier I was physically in a very horrible place; my autoimmune disease caused constant pain so that I could barely even do the most basic things like cook or clean. Now, oddly enough those things are my rewards. I can be an average 20-something mom and wife, finally! While becoming healthier is only in…

So I'm not the only one? Good stuff. I generally have a mindset of, "I earned these chips. Totally counting that as cardio."

I have little advice that hasn't already been said, but I wanted you to know I can relate. I am in long-term recovery from my own EDNOS. I would exercise to exhaustion and limit my food intake to the bare minimum. I wasn't considered anorexic since, but the need to control what I ate encompassed my life. I also have ment…

ALLLLL the QFT.

QFT. You may be unable to control your amount and level of exercise currently, but you can control what and how much you eat. Start there. Stop drinking your calories if you are currently, drink more water, and focus of foods that are nutritionally dense as often as you can. Believe me, even those changes will make a…

Congratulations on making such monumental changes to your health and your future! You've accomplished so much in such a short time!! Keep it up!

First, before anything else, I want to tell you that you are far, FAR from hideous. You are beautiful. Even if you'd never started getting stronger and losing inches/weight. You. Are. Beautiful. Your weight and size do not define your beauty, please don't let them. With that said, before pictures are amazing motivators. I…

I can definitely see a difference! Way to go! I had similar feelings when looking at my progress and weight loss. It just.. didn't feel like I'd accomplished that much. I was stuck in this horrible mindset. Then I picked up a 10lbs weight and it hit me; I was carrying two of these on my body. It really is an eye opener!

In for the boobs! And maybe for the booty, too.

It's awesome that all your hard work is paying off!

Bless. This. Post. More people need to keep these things in mind, you are the driving force to make you the healthiest person you can be. Hold yourself accountable. You ate that cake? Fine. Log it. Then do better. Don't make excuses that allow you to eat cake everyday or skip out on work outs. It hurts only one person.…

I've lost a bald eagle and a human head thus far. Still need to lose two sperm whale brains and a chihuahua, though. I'm wondering when people are going to notice all these random organs and thermoregulating animals have gone missing.

I have dealt with chronic illness and health issues for over a decade, and I can relate to how difficult it can be to face some of those challenges. Adding him (and you!). :)

Photos are definitely a motivator for me, Nellie. It helps to see -- really see -- just how far I've come. It gives me that extra boost to go another 10 minutes or to push just a little bit harder. Because I know a huge chunk if those changes between each photo are from all the hard work and sweat I'm investing into my…

Oh I've already begun strength training! It's just that at present I'm very weak and struggle to use even 5 or 10 lbs dumbbells during most exercises. I want to be able to do much heavier lifts by the summer and have some legitimate muscles mass to show off, hopefully. I was mostly bedridden for a long while which caused…

While it definitely is one of my goals to continue losing weight and get down to a healthier size, it's not my biggest goal. I want to be strong and fit, to be able to enjoy this coming summer fully with my husband and son, to not feel trapped indoors because I'm too unhealthy to do anything else. I can be skinny and still…
