  • I have been having the same problem, gaining and losing the same 2lbs over the course of 3 months-so frustrating and a little soul crushing after all the hard work I am doing. A couple weeks ago I hid the scale and just kept working. I also increased my calories a little bit. I did a weigh-in today. The results? This month…
  • Starting week 5 tomorrow. Not going to lie, a bit nervous about Day 3-20 min!!!! I guess we'll see.
  • I am on week 5 of C25K. I go to a park near my house to run and I love it. I am certainly not the fittest or thinnest person there, but I am doing it and I love getting an encouraging nod or hello from all the other joggers there with me. Everyone has to start somewhere. Just think, for all you know that skinny speed demon…
  • I love my ice cream too! I used to buy Breyers all natural ice cream until I learned that they use milk chock full of antibiotics and growth hormones. Mmmmm. Natural. No thanks!
  • I have been losing and gaining the same 2lbs for 6 weeks. It's super frustrating! Just keep at it.
  • I have never been athletic. I have an uncomfortably large chest, and up until recently I liked to joke that I wasn't sure I could be motivated to run if I was being chased. In an attempt to shake up my weight loss I decided to try C25K. Insane, right? When W1D1 did not kill me, I did W1D2 and then D3. Day 3 was really hard…
  • I found 30DS to be killer! I injured my shoulder doing it and stopped around day 4. I would say walking or biking would be low impact. It's frustrating when an injury interrupts your mojo! Hang in there and let your body heal.
  • "If you aim at nothing you will hit it every time." The difference between a dream and a goal is a plan. Also, I often tell myself that I don't have to like it, but I have to do it. Good luck!
  • I was a yo-yo smoker for ages! I would quit for months (and once for years) and then start again...no will power! Last August I found this book at the library and decided to give it a whirl. http://www.amazon.com/Smoking-Today-Without-Gaining-Weight/dp/140276572X/ref=pd_sim_b_4/191-7453234-1310457 I have been smoke-free…
  • A foam roller (I bought mine at Target) will work miracles on those tight, sore muscles!
  • Heartrate monitor and a foam roller for sure!
  • I am on week 1. Just did Day 2 today. Kind of shocked that I haven't died! I find that very motivating!
  • Try a foam roller. I bought mine at Target for about $15. It was the best piece of exercise gear I have bought yet! Rolling out sore muscles hurts like heck when you are doing it, but the end result is amazing.
  • I have multiple books going right now. In my car I am listening to 11/22/63 by Stephen King. Walking the dog I have The Litigators by John Grisham. I am also reading the most current The Walking Dead graphic novel, and a teen: 52 Reasons to Hate My Father by Jessica Brody. I hope to start reading A Storm of Swords by…
  • Eat all of your calories AND your exercise calories.
  • very rude, you have every right to ask him to remove it. Even though you are angry and upset, you'll probably have more success if you can try to be calm and polite about out. I'm sorry your friend did that to you. Good luck.
  • I love cheese and refusing to buy anything artificially fat free/light, with the exception of Laughing Cow. Hard parmesan is pretty low cal and great on pasta and goat cheese is naturally pretty light too and oh-so-yummy! Spinach, goat cheese, and fresh roasted beets. mmmmm. ok, now I want that.
  • I would suggest increasing your calories. 1200 is a minimum for women. Also, add some high intensity cardio and weights. Good luck! I hear the last pounds are the hardest to get rid of.
  • Steel cut oats are the way to go! They have a much nicer texture than rolled oats-not as mushy. I like to add a TBS of almond (or peanut) butter, honey, and banana. It's about 350 calories and keeps me going until lunch.
  • I love a spinach salad with fresh roasted beets and goat cheese. I don't care for dressings much, so a touch of balsamic vinegar is what I use.

  • A couple of things I like to do: mix potatoes, fresh green beans, onions, pepper, zucchini-basically any fresh veg works and the more the merrier! Toss with some olive oil and sprinkle lightly with dry french onion soup mix. Roast until potatoes are cooked. I am big fan of beets and I love to wrap a couple of fresh beets…
  • Lola? I like Riley too-Harley and Riley-has a nice ring to it.
  • Right on! I don't cheat, I make choices. If I choose to eat a burger or ice cream, I also choose to put in the extra exercise time so I can enjoy my treats! Almost 20lbs gone and I have enjoyed almost all of my favorite foods along the way.
  • Hang in there! You should be aiming for lifestyle changes. It sounds like you have the exercise portion totally under control. Good for you going from inactive to working out regularly. Keep that up! I looked at your diary and will agree with other comments-try to eat more of those exercise calories. Sodium also reeks…
  • I think I have 1570 a day, which should allow me to lose a pound a week. I started at 1200 and my weight loss came to a screeching halt after about 3 weeks and I was always hungry. As soon as I increased calories I started losing again. In 3 months I have lost almost 20lbs. I do eat back my exercise calories and I am…
  • I aim for 200-300. I can usually make that just walking the dog everyday. 3-4 days a week I try to get a workout dvd in, bumbing me up to closer to 500 on those days.
  • I make a big pot of steel cut oats on the weekend and portion it out so that it is ready to grab and reheat every morning. I like to add almond butter, honey, and banana. After dressing it up, it is usually a 350 calorie breakfast, which keeps me going all morning. If I have time in the mornings I like to make eggs with an…
