yes, that's a great plan. my daughter works at a hospital, and they often do that for their employees... offer them free admittance to their wellness center (hospital-based gym) so long as they attend a set number of days each week, or else they get charged full price for the month. it's a good incentive.

some good sounding ideas i will have to try. thanks everyone :drinker:

yes, especially if they add more sugar (or substitutes) or sodium to make up for the taste that you're missing with the lower fat content.

Being told that if you don't go twice (or three times) a day 'or you may require a cleanse' is just a way to sell a colon cleanse product. As most everyone said, it varies from person to person, and as long as you go and it's not uncomfortable, you're ok.

Yes, as the others said, eating more often, and smaller meals, helps your body break the food down instead of storing it as fat. Try to eat something, even just a little snack, every 2-3 hours to keep your metabolism up and your body burning the fuel. And as you do this, you will find that you will be hungry when you get…

i just googled weight loss in images and got a bunch of pics. is that what you mean?

I am definitely addicted to sugar. I have been trying to get off it for some time now. As khyys said, getting out of the house (and my office, and any place else that's in my sight) is the best help. the more I stay away from it, the easier it gets.

I take Vitamin Code for Women 50 and Wiser  It is a raw vitamin too.

Thanks! that will be very helpful.

I thought eating your exercise calories was more like a treat, not a recommendation. I think that's the point of exercising, to burn more calories than you take in... if you eat them all back, it seems to me a lot of work for nothing.??

well, I may not be super knowledgeable about this, but I would think that weight lost through starvation is not necessarily weight that will stay off. When I got out of the hospital and couldn't eat anything, I lost 25 pounds in 2 weeks... gained it and more right back once I could eat normally again. They're just looking…

Great job! I've been trying for a month and haven't lost anything! Just started here a week ago. Maybe keeping track will help. Thanks for the inspiration!

and a big WOO-HOO to all of you!!!

I can understand how you feel. I have lived with depression since childhood (51 now). It's good that you're going to see a doctor now. I waited until I was suicidal, but thankfully my love of my daughter kept me from that and instead I went to therapy. I have been put on various medications over the years for this, but…

That is great! Thanks so much for sharing that with us. It is an inspiration to us all. I would love to be able to say the same thing - I still crave sugar and fat. But hopefully, staying vigilant, and knowing it is possible, I will be in that great place!

Welcome! This is a great site. Everyone here is very supportive and helpful. It really amazed me to see what I actually was eating when I kept track. It helps you to avoid stuff when you can see how unhealthy it is. Good luck and healthy eating.
