  • I used a heart monitor (though a cheap one from canadian tire) and put the workouts at 200 calories burned for 30 minutes. . . some days it's more like 225 and some days it's more like 185 depending on how hard i push myself but i would rather undervalue my burn than overvalue it and eat back too many calories
  • My personal opinion is to push through and do what you can Think of the first workout you did in month 1 - how many times you stopped, how lacquered in sweat you were, how hard you were heaving your breath. . . .and compare that to the end of month 1. which you enjoyed. if you get amazing at month 1 you've lost the part…
  • I'm an ex-smoker and started having a burning in my throat and and anterior neck muscles when I ran. It was from too tight scalenes - muscles that help lift your upper ribs when you inhale or breathe heavily. Try some short stretches to your Sternocleidomastoid and scalenes as well as your pec major before and after you…
  • I started with 30 Day Shred and now I walk/jog on my treadmill while watching old seasons of The Biggest Loser - I intersperse that with crunches and pushups. Good luck!
  • Clean Eating Magazine is amazing - cleaneatingmag.com
  • There is a magazine called "Clean Eating" that is fantastic!! http://www.cleaneatingmag.com/ here's their website if the plan you are following starts to get boring. good luck!
  • as long as you're not bored, I'd stick to level 1 until you can get through it, even just following anita, or do it all but maybe no hand weights . once either of those happens then I'd move to level 2. good luck!!!

  • It burns ~ 225-250 calories, depending on how hard you work and how much your heart rate is jumping! I'm 5'9'' and 173 lbs.
  • But you did say you could now do Level 1 with ease! Think of the first day when it involved swearing and panting!! Your hard work is still showing results!!!
  • mlts10: you just need 2 or 3 lb hand weights. Jillian has 3 circuits and each one is 3 minutes of strength (using light hand weights) , 2 minutes of cardio, and 1 minute of abs. It's great but you may find that the first day or two you can't use the weights for some of the moves- don't quit! just put down the weights and…
  • I burned between 225-250 each time, level 1 and level 2. i didn't do level 3 very much (didn't like the "popping" actions with weights) so not sure about that one! good luck!
  • I'm bowing out of this challenge - I thought Jillian and I could spend time together but I can't seem to fidn time for her in a day! Instead, am heading to the YMCA today after work with the kids to see what classes are available. I need the kids entertained if I'm to find time to take care of me too I think. Next round of…
  • Excited for Level 2 - weigh in was 182.3 lbs. . . . planning to weigh in daily but only post on Mondays - sorry for the day delay - was out of town this weekend!
  • Day 2 done! Thanks for starting this group! I feel very motivated knowing there are a bunch of tired sweaty girls out there who are just as sore as I am today!!
  • WIll be posting my starting stats later but it is 5:41 am and I am awake and about to Shred!
  • I'm in!! Did it before and fell off the wagon (and into a bowl of chips!!). See you at 5:30am!! Goal: Lose 5 pounds level 1 Lose 3 pounds level 2 Lose 3 pounds level 3 Total 11 pounds! Go Us!!
  • Go Audrey!! Insanity is ridiculous! Kick its *kitten*!!
  • I did laser to quit smoking but it is done in a similar fashion to hypnotism - gentle suggestions in a calm state. I left with smokes in my purse and didn't even think to light one up! Downside was I got cocky because it was SO easy and started smoking again 6 months later! Champix (a prescription drug) is what ultimately…
  • on the biggest loser when people have lower bodyt injuries they still work out with shadow boxing, sometimes while in a squat position. it might keep your cardio going and resistance from punching but without the activity on your injured ankle?
  • I kid you not: Yoga for Dummies. You can youtube it to see if it's up your alley as I don't think your trainer is after a "work out" yoga like P90. I do Hatha classes at a hot yoga studio but I started at the YMCA one night a week for an hour and also found the Yoga For dummies online. You can also check out…
  • shred first!! THEN ripped!!
  • It's puking everything up, even water! My son had it and we almost had him on IV he was so dehydrated! Good luck!!!!!
  • http://www.bluefinapps.com/#ourapps great couch to 5k app for the iphone!
  • IT's great and hard! Lots of plyometrics - jumping, up and down, keeping the heartrate up and the breathing panting! It feels great to finish each workout, especially if you have a HRM and can enjoy watching it skyrocket! Good luck!!
  • Me too and exactly the same amount to re-lose. i don't know about easy, but i doubt you and i would feel so proud of ourselves if it were. you're not alone in falling off the wagon but i'm with you to jump back on. here's to us, one day at a time (not a bad motto i think :-)
  • I loved it! Did it through January and February and lost 15 pounds - plus watching my calories of course and learning to cook using tyhe biggest loser family cookbook. jillian is awesome during it, it's short, and it's sincerely effective. my butt looked better, my arms started to get definition and it was always a…
  • So agree!!! One stranger asked me if I was pregnant and I replied with a giant smile on my face and a gentle rubbing of my belly, "Nope! I just love McDonalds!"
  • I hear ya - my brother is incredibly overweight and at my heaviest my grandmother grabed my face and emotionally said, "You're looking like your brother!" At the same time though, I didn't see how big I had gotten and maybe if a few people had gently mentioned it to me I might have taken more notice? Not too sure but I…
