  • Just an update (I think this thread might turn into my diary lol) I've been doing NROLFW for about two weeks now. I'm feeling much stronger and I've increased my weights a huge amount since I started. I absolutely love the program and the way I can incorporate in into my usual exercise routine and the rest of my life. I'm…
  • Thanks for the reply!! I was a bit bored last night and just wanted to write about my journey so far lol!! It's nice to hear that confirmation about weight gain, even though I've read it a hundred times, it's still good to have someone say it to you!! This morning I feel great after my rest day! I don't feel fatter at all,…
  • Hi, I'm Cat, I'm 26. I've been on MFP for just over a year now and I've lost about 87lbs so far but I've hit yet another brick wall. I'm about 17-18lbs away from my original goal weight. I lost most of my weight doing cardio, mostly workout videos, using my cross trainer and once I'd lost some weight I started kickboxing,…
  • I know this is an old thread but I was just about to post the same thing :) I'm eating at TDEE at the moment which I got from Scooby's workshop. I assume I'm moderately active given that I'm doing NROLFW, plus kickboxing twice a week. If not, then I'm bulking lol. I actually feel a little bulky at the moment, but as I've…
  • I've just started NROLFW, I was a little worried that it might slow me down if I started lifting, but I'm eating at TDEE to fuel my lifting and I feel like I've got loads more energy for my kickboxing sessions, but then I have literally just started lifting. I have been playing with kettlebells for a while though. It was…
  • Hey everyone, I completed my first workout yesterday, apologies if all this has been said elsewhere, I did have a read, but not through all 5 parts of the thread! I had to everything with 16kg dumbbells (8kg each) as that's all I have until I get my new barbell / dumbbell set delivered today or tomorrow which'll give me…

  • I do kickboxing, just got my orange belt last week, so not grading for green for 6 months now. So in the meantime I'm going to refine and perfect all my orange belt stuff (crescent kick, spinning side kick, ridgehand etc) and learn some of the green belt stuff which I can't remember as I don't have the syllabus on me, but…
  • I used to wear trainers for pad drills and go bare foot on the mats for sparring but I had trouble pivoting when I was wearing shoes, as soon as I took them off my kicks went from body height to head height easily :)
  • Thankyou! That schedule actually matches up with my work schedule perfectly as I work weekends, the only thing is I waitress on Saturdays so I wont do any extra cardio as I spend 6 hours walking backwards and forwards, carrying heavy trays (believe me, I weigh every day and I can go over my calories and still lose 2lbs in…
  • Thats very helpful, thankyou! Unfortunately kickboxing does take my heart rate up into the 160/170's at times, but it's bursts of activity, similar to HIIT I suppose as we don't spar continuously for an hour at a time! But I can keep all the other activity I do a little less extreme. So as of today I've increased my…
  • I started off with Kettlercise just for women, which is good, but I got bored just doing the same thing over and over again so I bought kettlebells for dummies which has a few workouts in it. I use an interval timer on my phone and sometimes just make up workouts as I go along!
  • Seriously? I've just photshopped the pic to half it's original size, reuploaded it to photobucket and edited my post and... it's still the same size lol!!! I give up!! As everyone has noticed, yes it's the same pic as my profile pic so it's easy enough to find lol. Thanks for the kind comments everyone!! The kettlebells…
  • Thanks everyone! I'm 5'7'' I'm just re-uploading the pic to photobucket, because despite resizing it in photobucket, it refuses to change on here lol!
  • Thanks Sassy!! Haha!! I'm not going anywhere!! I love it here!! :)
  • lol, I'm trying to resize it, but it's not happening!!
  • Thanks, I will have a look at some alternatives next time I go shopping! In the meantime I will try and substitute some of my cups of tea for green tea and look at other ways I can reduce my milk intake. I didn't eat much fruit and veg today either, so I expect that would push my sugar intake up even higher, but I look at…

  • I know I'm no health professional (insert standard disclaimer here lol) but my doctor told me to lose weight on a 1200 calorie diet I wouldn't do it having learnt everything I've learnt since being here. My body has stalled out twice now from not eating enough and I have also joined EL2WM and started a metabolism reset to…
  • Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Green Day and some others I can't remember. My memory sucks.
  • This thread has just answered a major question for me!! Thank you so much!! Turns out I've been underestimating my physical activity quite a bit :blushing:
  • Oh yeah, would be happy for anyone to add me too. All/most of my current friends are eating low calories so would be great to have some support from others who are eating more!!
  • Hey everyone, I joined this group a couple of days ago. I started off with MFP in August last year eating 1400 calories and I lost really well until Christmas when I took a week off and ate whatever I wanted. When I started back again I started cutting cals more and more some days only netting 200-300. I stopped losing…
  • I'll have a word at the local gym and see if they do the measurements there, thanks. I'd love to know what my BF% is! I did try and work it out online using measurements and it came out at about 26%, but I know the only way to know is to get properly measured. As for slowing down my fat loss, that's easy as I'm not losing…
  • Yep, that's pretty much what I want!! But that's how I've been eating for the last few months with the exception of a few dodgy days. I was under the impression that adding a good strength training routine and thus adding more muscle, would use also burn more fat? plus it looks good!! Having thought about it though, if I'm…
  • OK, that's cool, I'm at a goodish place right now, I've lost 77lbs and weigh 168, but I have no idea of my true BF%, my scales say 32% but I don't believe it. My legs are very muscular already and my arms have little muscles too, I already feel a little toned from 30DS and kickboxing, but I have wobbly thigh tops and belly…
  • This is pretty much what I was thinking, I expected that I would gain due to adding muscle, but I thought I would lose body fat along the way too. Since I'm still 30lbs away from my goal weight would it be a good idea to wait until I'm closer to my goal to start strength training?
  • Thanks for the replies! I've had a good read of Stacey's story, Wow, I would love results like hers!! I want to start with kettlebells because I don't really have the money to join the gym at the moment and I can do kettlebells at home. When I'm able to join the gym I'd consider starting NROLFW, but I do really enjoy…
  • Hey everyone, 1) What are your goals for this week? Since it's Saturday night I was hoping to have a rest day tomorrow! 2) What are your goals for this month? Finish week one of Ripped in 30, get under 12 stones (168lbs) 3) Which video(s) will you be using? Ripped in 30, Kickbox Fastfix. 4) How often do you plan to…
  • Thanks for the reply. Wow, that sounds terrible having it rupture the uterus! I hope your twin and friend are OK now. I must admit, I've been reading the website and I've just seen that I may not be able to use it anyway because of the medication I am on. It's frustrating. Back to the drawing board I think.
  • It's nothing like cheerio's, but when I was low carbing I used to go for Lizi's granola, they sell it in Tesco's, it's about £3.49 a pack and although you only get quite a small serving, it's quite filling and low GI. You can also get different flavours like chocolate and maple online from lowcarbmegastore (I think)
  • Just thought of another one... Chortle. Don't know why, just don't like it.
