  • I have to go with Phelps. The amount of effort and energy it takes to swim a 400m is incredible. It takes incredible stamina and strength. Im not trying to take away from Bolt. I just dont think people realize what kind of effort it takes to swim 8 lengths in the pool without slowing down. If Bolt were running the 400M or…
  • Well welcome to the program!!! I cant take my dog on my runs. Hes part beagle so hes got to sniff everything. Drives me nuts.
  • Thanks everyone for your comments. That was exactly the problem. Speed. I was a football player and a baseball player in school and thats the only running i knew. Getting to 100 yards as fast as possible. This is a 3 mile jog. I guess Im still learning how to run. Thanks for all of your comments.

  • W2D2 - Todays run was agony!!! Tried some new shoes designed for running and it definitely used muscles I hadnt previously used. I think its because it forces a different landing pattern. Anyways, if day 3 goes well I will move on. If not I will be repeating week 2.
  • Good luck boys4girls1!!! I just finished my first day of week 2.
  • I'm starting W2D1 tomorrow.

  • Week 1 Day 2 (2) - Great run this morning. My breathing was ok and it finally feels like my ankles are loosening up. Im feeling really good about thsi.
  • Im new here as well and am at the same level you are. Good luck!!!
  • Good luck. Im having shin issues as well but mine isnt constant and its more muscular. I agree with everyone else. Your making huge strides just starting this program. Dont push it so you wont enjoy it. Take care of that body. Its the reason were doing this in the first place. :) Cheers!!!
  • Thanks for all the great comments. As a former football player and body builder I'm used to short bursts. the longest I've ever run is 100 yds. It seems as soon as I hit that threshold my ankles tighten up and it feels like my feet are flopping around. It flattens out my landing and jars my whole body. Im sure the strength…
  • So far I am about a week and a half into the program. My leg muscles are rejecting the program so I'm doing every week twice. So far so good (aside from the muscle stiffness).
  • Ive found that lots of water and chewing gum help. The water fills you up temporarily and the gum satisfies the urge to chew. Give it a try it may help.
  • Hi Shiralee, I think your kids should be motivation enough. My kids are what brought me here. I also know its tough out there for those losing weight. Welcome and good luck!!!
