If you can sit in a chair, you can do a squat. Maybe not a true, below or at parellel squat, but it'll give you a good place to start. Google ways to learn how to squat (chairs are usually inolved) ;). Best of luck.

I've never taken them, but exercise has the same effect for me. If I stop working out for more than three days in a row, the depression creeps back in. I lose the lust for life pretty quickly and my thoughts turn negative. For this reason, I will have to remain active my entire life... which isn't a bad thing, just…

Skinny jeans are jeans that are tight all the way down to the ankle. I think the most common type of jeans are bootcut, which are tight down the thigh, but then get looser down the calf and can fit over a boot vs. a skinny jean that would fit inside a boot. And yes, theme nights are pretty common for women (at least in my…

In addition to the stores already mentioned, I really like TJ Maxx and Marshalls. I'm in my 30's and find nice things in both the junionr's and misses sections. I also love Nortstom Rack if you've got one nearby.

Nicole Wilkins (IFBB Figure Olympia Champion)!

It makes very little difference as long as you're getting enough protein throught the day. I drink my during though ;).

I tan about once a week just to maintain some color. Other than that, I get sun when I'm jogging or at an outdoor bbq or something. I work inside everyday, so I pretty much take whatever vitamin d I can get. It takes a lot for me to burn, so I only use spf if I'm going to be outside for more than a few hours.

I always get chocolate because I know it's good. Add a scoop to your morning coffee...I swear it tastes just like choclate milk!!!

Google Bret Contreras, it will change your life...and your booty :).

I just read a study on the positive effects of botox on depression. They found that people who had botox to freeze thier forehead frown lines (wrinkles between the eyebrows) saw an 80% reduction in depression symptoms. That's just off the top of my head, so maybe google it to find out more. Seems like it'd be worth a try.…

Good for you! I sing too, but my running path isn't populated so nobody hears me... at least I think ;).

Yes, this happens to me too sometimes. For the past two days, though, I've been craving mustard which I find really weird. I need to google that ;).

I've heard that apple cider vinegar helps with gout (and many other ailments). It might be worth a try until you get your medication figured out. Best of luck to you!

If you're bulky, what am I?! :drinker: I quite like the look I've got going on. I also liked the story about the dogs!! IMO every part of your body looks like a totally normal women...except your abs because they look very fit.

Just coffee for me :). I have also noticed that my allergy medicine, Allegra D, gives me a super boost when I take it. It also supresses my appetite. It's pretty expensive though.

Yandy.com has a wide variety of styles at very reasonable prices. My favorite is VS, of course ;). Department stores also have nice things sometimes, but it's hit or miss.

^ This is brilliant. :drinker:

A little off topic, but has anyone else noticed how the hand symbol they use is also "the shocker"??!! That alone was enough to deter me from learning more about them.

The most simplistic way to do it (not as accurate as other methods) is to eat 10x your weight. So, aim for 1,930 calories/day. With this method, I would not add back calories burned excercising. Then, when you weigh 180 lbs, cut your intake down to 1,800 calories and keep working out. You'll do great!
-
^ I agree with the eta. As for the 5 pound loss, I think that's just fine unless you're not overweight. The first few weeks are usually the most productive and then things tend to become less linear.
-
I've found it to be pretty accurate. But, of course, I cross-reference everything just in case ;).
-
Try to be consistent. Find a calorie limit that is appropriate for your goal and then stick to it for a few weeks to see what happens. Also, weekly weigh-ins only. I've slayed that dragon myself. It's more about seeing a trend rather than seeing changes from one day to the next.

That's great advice, Steve. I'll just add that it's okay to feel how you're feeling sometimes. We're our own worst critics afterall. This may sound corny, but talk to yourself in a positive way. See your beauty (inside and out) and reaffirm it everyday. And, keep things in perspective. Whenever I get down about something,…

It's actually very likely that upping your water intake over time will help the weight come off for two reasons: 1. When your body is no longer dehydrated, it'll take notice and stop retaining all the water it can get. 2. Staying hydrated helps ward off cravings and helps you feel fuller on less calories. People often…

You've got to be kidding me! Fruits are mostly useless???? Fruit contains loads of vitamins and minerals. And, it's delicious so that's a bonus. Sheesh people. If you enjoy fruit, eat it.

If you are overweight, you do not need to do a bulk cycle. Your body has extra fat stores to burn. Strenght training while at a deficit will help preserve your existing muscle. People who are overweight tend to have a pretty good amount of muscle on them already.

I've been peeling them this way ever since I was told that this is how monkey's peel them. It's so much easier! They are great sliced up with a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon!
