I am in nearly the same boat. Started at 170 with a goal of 145. As we're on the same journey, you are welcome to friend me. Maybe we'll be able to create our own success stories!! We can all use encouragement.

Hello - 55 and in the same boat - however, I dropped 18 lbs three years ago and now have them back plus a couple more. Am approaching differently this time because I am looking for a plan I can live happliy with. That includes still being able to have some fun food occasionally. It also includes making less decisions on a…

The only way I can control the same sort of thing is to NOT have them in the house. That said, I do still find occasions to eat them elsewhere. As you said, part of the problem is labeling things as evil. Enjoy occasionally when you are out or at a friends. Best of eating to you!

Avoid processed foods. That way the "added" sugar will be something you control. I really don't mind/track natural occuring sugar in fruit, milk, etc. Good luck!

Add one more to the list. . . 10 lbs added in this "transition" year! I would love to have some friends in the same boat especially if they are willing to share their food diary. Good luck to all of you!

Thanks for finding all these 50 something folks! Those pounds sure do accumulate quickly once you hit 50. I look forward to staying healthy and I know that friends make a huge difference. You are all welcome to add me for mutual support.

I am old (52). I feel that I have to vary my workouts to avoid injury. I run 3 miles 2 times a week; shred 3 times a week and do an interval walking routine once a week. It just works. But the shred works every part of your body. . . so if I had to do only one thing, it would be the shred.

I have been doing it about 3 times a week since March. It is a great workout!!! How do other account for it in the exercise category? Interested to hear input from others that have been doing. I apologize it this is a repeat question.

I am staying. We live in a nation of not just plenty. . . but excess. I think of MFP as a tool to keep it all real.

I am going to stick to fruit <and water> for the rest of the week and see how that feels. Let's see is I can get it out of my system. One question - do you eliminate completely or only during the day. I know - I am weak. - but had to ask. I can generally be very reasonable in the evenings.

I'd like to try this. Would you be willing to share your brownie receipe?

I actually gained two pound on my last weight in and was very discouraged. BUT, the scale is not the final word. I checked my measurements and I'd lost another 1.5 inches off my waist. Check your measurements - you may be progressing that way!!
