Happy belated birthday.

Hit 2 years in September and can see how the challanges have changed. It's easy to fall into a new normal and forget the basics. Been able to stay within 10 pounds of my LW but it does take a more focused effort the further away you get from DAY 1.

Great job - keep it going.

Great victory

Not a doctor but this was a frequent and popluar topic at the group meetings I attended during this process. Each of us have our own personal resons why we gained weight. Treating the root cause is just as important as gaining the new "tool" our surgeon created. Social anxiety was a common root cause.

What a difference a year makes! Great job, keep going.

I though cottage cheese was just something people were forced to eat on a diet. Go figure.......

Another guy here - just hit my 2 year mark. Don't post as much as I used to here, more active in another group.

Congratulations on some very good results. Keep positive and keep going forward.

Note to self: never approach Tink to ask for directions......
-
@Stephanie - I'd say you were "flirt worthy" too but since you live so close I'd hate to give the wrong impression should you see me riding my bike nearby. lol
-
Tink: Very different situation. Personal security is a serious issue. Thaeda: That's surprising, you are quite "Flirt-Worthy".
-
Tink: Unwanted or unwelcome? Think about the difference because it matters. If you are becoming more healthly and in better shape you will hold yourself different. This change of posture is positive and will be attractive to others.

Awareness is the key. We all make some imperfect food choices on occasion but we now have a limiting tool and the ability to adapt behaviors. I still weigh almost everything (work and home), log everything into my meal diary and have linked my FitBit and MapMyRide apps to help track exercise. Everyday is a new start. You…

Well done

2 years out (this month) and I have very little difficulty with food. I avoid most rice and pasta dishes as they fill me very quickly with little nutritional value (though I do like an occasional serving).* Carbination causes an uncomfortable bloated feeling. Limits my beer choices (no light beers) - no soda at all. *…

Great work Jan - keep it up.

You have to stay strong and take charge of managing the payments. Insurance companies will try to intimidate and lie. Make a payment plan, stick to it and always challenge any attempts to force a greater amount of payment. Interestingly, many of the same skills and disciplines we need to develop with respect to dieting are…

Try to remember the meaning of Easter and find Joy. Find a local Church, call the office today and see if they need help with an Easter meal. Every journey starts with a single step.

Good for you!!

I am 18 months out and maintaining goal weight with 2200 calories (MFP calculations) as a baseline. I also eat back my exercise calories (tracked with Fit-Bit). It is amazing how normal my eating has become. Never thought this could happen. Key: I still weigh, measure or scan as much as resonably possible.

Good for you!

bikrchik is spot on (again). I was NEVER given a calorie count by my Doctors. The focus was on fluid and protein intake. Eat high quality, protein rich foods first and make sure you get 60oz of fluid and the rest will take care of itself. Following those guidelines I gradually increased my caloric intake (naturally) until…

Well done!

Trial and error. For me; I avoided meals like that at 8 weeks but everyone is different. Now at 18 months I still avoid the bigger burgers and have found that if we try to keep serving sizes of meat to 4oz I can eat most anything. That said sometimes I log in 1.5 or 2 servings (6 to 8 oz) if that's more accurate. Good luck…

People stopped calling me "Big Guy" and started calling me "Slim"

Normal weekday 300 calories of a protein bar(s) plus a cup of coffee (over time). On the weekend I try to have some eggs. Pre-surgery: Sausage, egg, potato and cheese hero with salt pepper/katchup or a few bagles with butter dunked in coffee. Sometimes a half box of Kashi with milk. Life is very different today.....
