  • Thanks for the Tofu info. I've always steered clear of it, but learned a lot from this thread. Deffo curious to play around with this. Cheers
  • Hey Tim, I think you are in the right place, I've only seen positivity here, its why I like it. Loads of support and "friendlies". I will ad you, always happy to help :-)
  • Great stuff! Always good to get the first results :-)
  • I know what you mean, scales can be depressing and cause problems with motivation. I’ve seen it loads! In my experience, its best to only weigh yourself once per 2 weeks as a rough estimate. You can put on a few pounds if you are hydrated and this confuses people. Also if you are training with resistance you will be…
  • Good job! I have always said that compliments are one of the cornerstones and the hardest part of any weight loss journey is getting to that stage. Unfortunately too many people quit before ever getting there. Again, good job and well earned! Jim swapfat4fit.com
  • How did the healthy pizza go paixnidiara41? Ive done this a fair few times and sometimes you just have the "Carb cravings" after eating it. A Good idea is to have this with a baked sweet potato. Great all round meal if you are training hard too
  • I have been mega strict in the past getting into bodybuilding show standard and had a few weeks where I had to force the food down, never looked forward to any 1 of the 7 meals each day. But found a few awesome spices that I could use on almost anything. Smoked paprika is the best for me right now, if I were you Id go down…
  • Nailed it. It all boils down to self education when it comes to fat loss and keeping it simple, once you have the basics, you can build from there. I think it also helps not to get sucked into the constant fads and "Revolutionary new diets" that are in everyones face these days. Keep it simple and keep on truckin! :-)
  • no probs, hope it helps :-)
  • Yeah, the "Light bulb moment"! I (Like that) :-) is where the major weight loss success stories come from, these are the ones that I really love to see and almost 100% of them are the result of realising that: "You have to want and you have to own" haha, I’m a big fan of pinning up motivational quotes when I’m training or…
  • Hi m8, I know through personal experience and I bet you do too that before you get started, it seems so far away but also it is the hardest part to make your new “Routine” or “Diet” stick, long enough to get your first set of results. But once you get your first set of results it snow balls and it becomes a whole lot…
  • Also solid 8, Killer vest to boot!
  • Yeah, It’s the "microwave mentality" that has taken over, that’s why so many people struggle these day. I’m a strong believer that fitness and weight loss is a lifestyle choice, not a fad diet and you can’t get a bottle of magic pills to fix it. I’m trying to promote my own self-help products but I know for a fact that I…
  • Here is a bunch of recipies that I use and have created myself. A lot of these are really clean. i am a bodybuilder so please dont be put off by this. Some of these recipies are ultra low in fat and have no sugar so are good for anyone. I invented most of these so let me know how you get on....... I cant be responsible if…

  • Thanks for the info on the US. Its really interesting to learn, I had no clue of the changes, It does seem a bit harsh to me though. (I am a civvie now after all) :-) The unit that I was in prety much left us incharge of our own fitness at troop level but we had no real regular tests, everyone had to pass "p coy" to get…
  • My unit was at a very high fitness level so I guess I missed that. I do know that they had “remedial” PT for normal units though but I never heard of people getting discharged for being overweight. That would light a fire under anyone who wanted to stay in. How long do they give you to lose the weight? Is it just in basic…
  • Hi, Im new here, but saw this post and thought Id give you my thoughts. I was in the British army myself in an airborne unit. I am a fitness instructor now and from my experience. The army is focused on endurance rather than fat loss. If you can run 20 miles with a weighted backpack, they won’t care how heavy or what your…
