Trip to Australia with my wife. We might come back.

217. Bah!
-
Wow. Hope I'm not too late. On the 3rd, I weighed 219.
-
219. Not even close.
-
I'm a day late; can I get in? Was 222 yesterday.
-
Dang, missed it. Just a busy week. I'll keep tabs here and try to get in on PC#20. Good luck, everyone!

I'm bummed. I had been losing 4# a week. Stupid trade show. I probably didn't estimate my walking / burning well out on the floor... Rats. Thanks for hosting, Manda.
-
I guess that puts me down 3. Went down to 226, but ate a bit too many Oreos over the weekend.... :(
-
Current weight (this morning). 228.

Survived a trade show and more receptions and schmoozing than I can count. Will post weight in the morning. Spent a LOT of time walking the show floor and hydrating. Finally beat the headaches. And no alcohol, even when offered for free. :-)

Welcome to the forum, Ashmantious! There's a wealth of information available through others (as noted by the texts and calls that we shared this week!). Good place to be.

Morning, after I drop some weight naturally and before I get in the shower. The shower adds weight for some reason - absorbtion of about a pound of water into my skin? I don't know. Actually, I hit the scales all day long.

You danced and ate before going to sleep. I'm no expert, but I think that, for weight loss and control that it makes sense for a day to be from wake up to wake up. As long as you're consistant, I'm not sure it matters.

You're absolutely and completely correct. However, some of my best friends are folks I've never met. (wait. That's either really cool, or really pathetic). LOL.

Here. And a hairy beast at that.

Yes, I am. If good relationship skills have been modeled, that's the important thing. That's why the divorce statistic is higher for 2nd and 3rd marriages. Many people have not learned good relationship (including arguing) skills in their earlier marriages. The issue isn't always the other spouse. Sometimes it is,…

I had the same thought that JJs25th had. Why do you not want to get married? I'm in school now (2nd career) in Marriage and Family Therapy, and I get the statistics and the studies and the whole 9 yards. I'm not going to cite any of that because it doesn't matter. Frankly, I'm not sure why you posted. You seem to have your…

My weight is lowest in the morning after bathroom. Shower adds some (water, moisturizing, anyone?) Weigh in at work (the "contest scale"). Before lunch, it's lower. After lunch, it's lower. Before I leave, lower. Bedtime (after dinner). Higher. Weird.

Exhausted. I don't know why. Most tired I've been since before I started CPAP therapy, too. Started C25K on Monday but didn't wear (dummy) my prescription orthotics and my feet are STILL killing me. Of course, 230 is a lot of stress on them. Tonight, I'm going to try Day 2 of the program. While i have kept my calories in…

I'm new at this myself. But I've been told (and read on health and wellness sites) that a person should be consuming (not net calories, but BEFORE net calories) at least 50% of their basic calorie amount. For example, at my weight (230), I will maintain weight at 2430 a day. Therefore, I should be ingesting a minimum of…

Wow. We're in the same bucket. I'm at 230 today, started at 240 on 3/1. Need to lose 40 by summer and want to lose, eventually, 80 total. Best of luck and hard work to you. There's a lot of encouragement here. My diary is public so people can see it - in the event that I'm doing this right. :-)
-
melodyg, thanks for the note. Yes, I have it set to 2# a week. That's a reduction in 7000 calories (assuming my understanding is correct) per week from my maintainance. 1430, I think, a day. I think calorie allowance is based on the current weight. I actually adjusted my "starting weight" on the "goal" tab and it…

I'm in. 231 today. 64oz of water a day At least 20 minutes of walking (either at work or on the 'mill). Staying in the black on my calories (1430 / day).
-
Okay... help me out, please. What is the difference between "break even" and "maintenance" calories? I'm guessing one of them is to maintain my shape (round) while the other one is per my 2#/week calculation?
-
Thank you, ladies. I'm going to open up my diary for your review and comment.

Okay, so I just put my calorie history on a spreadsheet. I've not done as well as I thought. <sigh>
