  • 3 year old boy/girl twins here. The first year was a cake walk compared to this age, I would take the infant stage back in a heartbeat over toddlerhood.
  • If you are wanting to run it, check out the couch to 5k plan, 9 weeks (I think) will have you running a 5k.
  • I was diagnosed 14 years ago with PCOS and low carb is the only thing that works for me. I do eat fruit, but essentially cut out breads, rice, and pasta. When I do allow it 2-3x a week, it's whole wheat or whole grain. I'm not insulin resistant so metformin has never worked for me, but I know it works for many women with…
  • This is my favorite: 1/2 cup brandy 1/4 cup lemon juice 1/3 cup frozen lemonade concentrate 1/3 cup orange juice 1 (750 milliliter) bottle dry red wine 1/2 cup triple sec 1 lemon, sliced into rounds 1 orange, sliced into rounds 1 lime, sliced into rounds 1/4 cup white sugar (optional) 8 maraschino cherries 2 cups…
  • try running at a 1.0 incline on the treadmill, its supposed to mimic the natural incline outside. Part of it is also conditioning and getting used to running outside with humidity, wind, etc..
  • I have the same problem and I've learned to not sit downstairs after everyone goes to bed. I tend to stay up watching tv downstairs so my husband can sleep since he gets up early and those are the times I snack. Its alot more work for me to go downstairs and then come back up that I don't go downstairs to begin with so I…
  • I typically eat a banana and a tablespoon of sunbutter. It hits carbs, protein, and fat, I stay full through a 2 hour workout with no problem. I do start feeling hungry on the way home so I tend to eat a protein bar or shake once I get home.
  • I was told by my reproductive endo back when I got pregnant with my twins, that your body "resets" with every 10% of weight loss. I haven't gone off the pill to try and see if a 20lb weight loss has done anything though. I was diagnosed at 15, no period, hair growth (always fun), acne. I don't get cysts, or none that I…
  • It took some trial and error for me to find a way to like them. I add fresh fruit, blueberries, bananas, whatever I have on hand. Some almond milk and sometimes either honey or a little Splenda. They do take more time to cook, so you have to plan ahead, I make bigger batches for the week and just grab and heat.
  • I feel like I have more energy, more patience, and in turn I feel better about myself. I still worry about things, but I've noticed that I don't dwell on it. One of my motivators is my husband, we were doing our own workouts, but compared at the end of the day how it went and how our eating was for the day. I think it kept…
  • My recipe is: 4c. of chopped broccoli 3 tbsp of fat free mayo 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar 2 packets of Splenda 2 tbsp of raisins 2 tbsp of sliced almonds (or sunflower seeds) 1/4c. of chopped red onion wisk the liquids together so it mixes well and then pour it over the broccoli, onion, raisins, and almonds, toss and…
  • I love Zumba as well! I can only make it once a week right now, but I love every minute of it.
  • I love almond milk now! I use it in oatmeal, cheerios, smoothies, choc. protein shakes, and I will even drink it straight if I'm craving milk. I prefer it more than regular milk now.
  • My b/g twins are 2 and I'm still fighting the "flap". It has gone down as I have lost weight, but now there's just the loose skin that isn't going to go anywhere without surgery.
  • I have the FT4 and love it! You can turn off the beep, I did because it drove me crazy and I didn't want to annoy the people around me at the gym.
  • I'm trying to lose 60 more pounds to hit my goal. I have PCOS, but I'm not TTC, I have 2 year old twins and they are enough for me.
  • I've got 2 kids who are twins so only 1 pregnancy and I have the pooch. Mine has gotten smaller as I have lost weight, but I will have to have a tummy tuck to get rid of the extra skin.
  • I was fitted for my last pair of running shoes and my knee pain is gone that I had in my old pair. I will always get fitted for my running shoes for this reason.
  • go to a running store, something like Fleet Feet, not Foot Locker. Any decent running store can watch your gait and determine if you over-pronate and give you several brands to try on to see what feels best. I spent around $90 on Nikes that were fitted, what I would have spent at Foot Locker and I knew that they were the…
  • Almonds, eggs, meat, veggies, fruit (strawberries are low), string cheese
  • I have a regular Nook and like it. Sometimes I wish I had gone with the Kindle because I think there are more free books out there, but my deciding factor was that my library's ebooks are only supported by the Nook so thats what I went with.
  • I would sit down with her and have a talk. She may be feeling left out, you have this new way of life and she may be feeling a little jealous. Try to find something in common, go kayaking together, pick up a sport, start Insanity/P90X/etc. together. With my husband, I didn't push the issue, if he asked questions I…
  • I got a Polar Ft4 from Target. I originally bought a New Balance one and I got it out of the package and it didn't count calories, it only monitored your heart rate. I returned it and paid a little more for the Polar, I love it!
  • Look for one with a chest strap, they are much more accurate as the monitor your HR constantly. I have the Polar FT4, I bought it at Target for around $90. When I was looking for one, it seemed that most ran in the 80-120 range that were decent.
  • feel free to add me! I'm on everyday!
  • I'm in! I've been doing it off and on for the past month on days that I can't get to the gym, but I've been wanting to follow the program. Count me in!
  • I'm doing Turbo Fire, lots of punches and kicks. DH just finished Insanity and he went from 200lbs down to 180lbs, I can tell a huge difference in his upper body. His big like was that the workouts were shorter than P90X and you didn't need extra gear.
  • Make sure your net calories is = to at least 1200. I don't have the links, but there are a ton of posts about eating back your exercise calories. Bottom line, eat them back. For me I had an initial weight loss and then stalled because I wasn't eating my exercise calories. I have since started eating them and surprise, the…
  • You can't "spot reduce". I had birthing hips before my kids and I swear they just got wider, after. I'm losing inches there by just doing cardio, nothing special, Zumba, elliptical, Turbo Fire when I can't get to the gym.
  • I would use your clothes and their fit over the scale. I had the same problem, initial weight loss, then nothing. However, I can now fit in a pair of jeans from 3 years ago (before my twins) and button them! I use those jeans as a gauge to measure how my body is changing. I won't lie, I still get on the scale just to see,…
