Yes - ironically my black and white thinking is playing into this too. You’re right- I should do what works for me.

I just posted about this... but I'm trying to incorporate the principles of 'intuitive eating' with calorie counting. They're supposed to be incompatible but I've learned quite a bit from realizing my emotional triggers when it comes to food. Might be worth researching

Good for you for loving yourself enough not to put up with his BS! Feel free to add me as a friend-- we are all in this struggle together!

I say, if you're sitting there craving sugar, it's better to choose the diet soda than the slice of cake.

Yep I turn 30 in December 2018! Holy crap! Yes let's get the weight off by then!

Don't you think you're more confident, though? Maybe they weren't disgusted by you or something, maybe you're more confident now and more open? So maybe they feel like you WANT to go do things?

Hi-- just wanted to say I can completely relate. I've been trying to lose the same 10-20 pounds for like 8 years now. I have lost a bit since my highest, but I berate myself for "not being disciplined enough" to lose the rest. But I really shouldn't do tell myself that, because I am a disciplined person in other areas--…

So I'm working on this myself. I work evenings (1p-9p) so I'm definitely hungrier toward the later part of the day. I think it's easier to be hungry at work and distract myself off of it versus sitting home alone at night. So I have a snack around 4p and try to push dinner to 6p/7p... that way when I'm off I'm not so…

If I were you-- I'd do weight training and don't worry about cardio.

That's awesome! Go you

I think what my trainer guy would tell me, is to adjust my macro's. Eat less carbs, more fat and protein. Maybe 20% calories from carbs and the rest from protein and fat.

I'm attending a wedding of a good friend in April-- traveling back to the U.S. to attend... and I'm told there will be single straight men there! Ha

Incredible. Different person from behind!

Congrats- the dedication to do that is so great.

I'm trying to become more confident- I know if my body is in good condition then I will feel better on the inside too. Don't tell me confidence comes from within because for me, my extra weight is a huge source of stress. :p. This is for me and no one else!

The fact that working out makes you feel better about your body, even if you don't look any different (yet). Like "Oooo my abs are so sore. I feel so skinny!"

I have been taking classes at my gym, 50 minutes each, about 4 times a week. 2 of them use weights, the other 2 use bodyweight only. I took before/after pics, and it made a HUGE difference in my tummy after only 1 month. Just gotta do something and stick with it long enough :)

That is FANTASTIC! You look so happy. Please please please keep it up for no one else but yourself. And I'd love to see updates! I'll send you a friend request too.

Yep- I just go for a walk-- make sure to not get overheated, and don't worry too much about it. And stretching is good.

I'd like more friends! I'm a 27 year old American journalist living in Hong Kong

ONLY a pound?!!! Man this makes me feel much better. I've been working out for over a month and haven't lost any weight on the scale but now I know I'm not hallucinating the changes I'm seeing on my body.
-
Thank you for sharing. You look amazing- I can imagine how much better you must feel. Keep it up and live a great happy life!

Incredible. You look so handsome and healthy. I'm on my 23498723947 attempt at losing the 20 or so pounds I have, and reading this is so helpful. It really is THAT simple-- absolute dedication and absolute tracking.
-
Lookin good-- I can tell-- your waist looks smaller especially!
-
Is it sad that I actually want to lose weight more than just about anything right now? I think it would give me so much confidence to do other things...
