I was just going to post this. I keep going in circles where I do great and eat healthy foods then just eat garbage... then do it over again. I'd love a buddy to be accountable with! I'm 140lbs and want to get down to 130lbs.

Today is day seven of my sugar free diet! Yesterday I went to a birthday party where they served a chocolate cake! I would have liked some, but I actually didn't feel like I was really missing out or that I DESPERATELY wanted some. What a good feeling. lyndalpn -- That is incredible! EIGHT months?! I hope I can get to that…

Thanks for the clarification... the only way I don't drool in the supermarket is by staying away from those aisle and not looking! Maybe one day I'll be able to walk by without craving the sweets in the supermarket. Did you get to that point?

Wow you guys are great! I'm so happy to hear that other people have done this too and that it's made such a big difference. darcyinmo -- I have noticed that a lot of food that I did expect to have sugar DOES have quite a bit in it--for example, I just made split pea soup and a single serving has 10 grams! Who knew? lydalpn…

Thanks a lot Runningnorth! That's so awesome that you've cut out sugar too! I hope I can stick with this and only get sugar in the form of fruit from here on out. I have checked out her site briefly before, but never in depth. I'll take another look at it because it'd be helpful to have some tips from someone who has…

The best thing you can do is lift weights. Build muscle so you keep a high metabolism and you'll look good when your body fat % goes down. My recommendations is eat higher protein per day than recommended by MFP (for you, at least 130g), lift HEAVY weights (you can find weight lifting regimes everywhere--check out…

Hey! I just wanted to throw in my experience... I used to have a very high resting heart rate--in the 80s or 90s. I sometimes also felt my heart beat weird at night... I don't know what it was. But that was when I wasn't exercising at all and I wasn't eating that great (my diet was ok but I think I ate a lot of sugar…

I'll join this too! I'm going to Thailand in a almost exactly a month and I want to be ready to undress on the beach!! I better add some cardio to my weight training.

Hmmm well I think that your HRM is off. You definitely burned more calories. I also checked just out of curiosity with another site based on your height, weight, age and BPM for 30mins and it said 269 calories. (http://www.shapesense.com/fitness-exercise/calculators/heart-rate-based-calorie-burn-calculator.aspx) What I…

A HRM should be tracking your heart rate while you work out. Does your HRM give you your average BPM? If it's low, then try ramping up your step aerobics. The HRM is by far the more accurate tool to determine how many calories you burned since it's tracking your heart rate while you do it, unlike MFP which really has no…

Your arms look gorgeous! Great job! I did an 3mo Insanity/P90X hybrid once and I got really great results :) Good luck!

I get like this too... lately especially. It seems like I'm on this unending journey of trying to get the body I want. So that's when I read fitness articles. I often read bodybuilding.com articles on people's transformations and that really makes me feel better. I think, if these people can do it, then I can! And I…

Meatloaf is a good option and it's easy. Add some taco seasoning and make a taco salad mmm!. You could also make bun-less hamburgers or chili.

That's awesome that you found something so fun AND is hard work! I definitely agree... dancing like those Kpop/Jpop singers looks easy but it's definitely not. It's absolutely not a waste of time. I have read different articles about when you should work out, but it seems like it only makes a slight difference, if any. My…

I'd say eat a bit more. You're burning a lot of calories and at 1250 calories... that's just too little. You need fuel! Also, as for your weight lifting routine I noticed that you're doing legs, abs and chest... only chest. What about your shoulders, triceps, biceps and back? Try to do a basic split of upper body one day…

I used to be pretty picky--I didn't like fish, tofu, many veggies, any seafood, etc... But I decided that that was ridiculous. I was cutting out so many types of food that I could be enjoying and are healthy for me. It's not about the food--it's about you. I told myself I would eat it until I enjoyed it and guess what--it…

Try drinking hot water with fresh lemon squeezed in it, about a half a lemon, and honey. It works really well to clear out the system. Last night I was looking bloated so I drank a cup this morning and I just looked in the mirror and I look much better. My stomach is flatter and I feel better. Try it--it might work for you…

What are you eating right after you work out? If you don't eat anything or don't eat carbs+protein right after a work out, it affects your energy levels all day. After cardio especially try to get in some good carbs (fruit, whole grain bread, brown rice, etc) and protein to repair your muscle. That could help. Also, if you…

If you want any ideas, I can add you as a friend and you can check out my diary. I eat a pretty high protein diet (I aim to hit about 150g of protein per day) so maybe it would help you to see just how I get all that protein. I eat a lot of chicken breast, whey, eggs (mainly the whites) and canned tuna. I'll sometimes eat…

That's so awesome! I can't wait to go back :)

Great! Yeah I have no excuse haha. I'm always away from home on the weekend so that's what kills me. Are you a certified nutritionist? When I return to the States I'm going back to school to become a dietitian so I was curious :)

Hi! I've done P90X and by the end I was lean and looked great! I've never tried the lean version but I bet it's just as good. I'd like to be your friend and watch your progress! :)

They do contain Erythritol, which is a sugar alcohol, but I think people tend to have less problems with it than other sugar alcohols. Every person is different though so maybe try one if you can before buying a whole box!

I'm not trying to argue with you. I should have said that for the large majority of people, eating breakfast helps with weight loss. Generally people who don't eat breakfast eat more later and it affects their energy levels. I personally don't like to go for long periods of time between meals or snacks because my goal is…

I looked through your journal and it looks pretty good. I think your proteins goals are good and your fat is pretty good (if you're eating low carb--lots of carb AND fat is detrimental to weight loss). I'd say be careful about going over by so much on your fats. Fats are good, but you're eating about 90g a day--way too…

Sometimes people don't get the hint... or they just don't get social cues. It's your house--why should she be able to sit there and watch when you don't want her to? Plus it's weird... lol. It's got an easy fix though--tell her to leave. You don't have to be rude but just ask her to go. Problem solved :)

I only eat Quest bars because they fit what I'm looking for. I often only eat a half of a bar at a time. I like the chewy texture because it takes longer to eat and forces you to chew it instead of just gulping down the bar. I prefer the all natural kind without the sucralose because I don't like artificial sugars (though…

For anyone trying to lose weight or fuel their bodies with working out, breakfast IS mandatory. Plus it just sucks to wait for two hours after waking up to eat ;) AmandaElaine had a good recommendation--eat something simple. That, or make a big breakfast for yourself and let him eat something simple! There are also some…

If you want to gain muscle, I suggest upping your calories and protein. I don't know what you're doing now, but if you want to gain lean muscle mass and gain the least amount of fat or no fat, then I'd get 40-50% of your calories from protein. And if you can, eat protein with every meal. I know that sounds like a lot, but…

No, your caloric intake is too low. You may be losing now, but you're going to destroy your metabolism if you keep eating that little. I suggest eating 1800kcal per day and if you've had a long day of swimming, add an extra little meal in there with protein to help your muscles develop. It sounds counterproductive to eat…
