Confusion

Hey, I've recently decided to lose weight as I'm very overweight (started at 260). I've started a week ago and I'm now at 254. I've been eating about ... 1000 calories as a minimum and sometimes up to 1500 calories. My BMR is of about 2000 calories, so if I don't do any exercise, I still have a negative -1000. To exercise, I swim all day and lose about 1000 calories doing so. So if my maths is correct, I have a deficit of -2000 calories? Is that even healthy? o.o
I've lost loads of weight in so little time, is it because I'm already overweight and changing my life style so making my body react like this?

No, your caloric intake is too low. You may be losing now, but you're going to destroy your metabolism if you keep eating that little. I suggest eating 1800kcal per day and if you've had a long day of swimming, add an extra little meal in there with protein to help your muscles develop. It sounds counterproductive to eat more calories but if you don't, your body is going to hold on to every bit of fat you have and slow your metabolism to get through this starvation. So eat up!0
