Late Night Workouts & JPOP/KPOP Dances

Okay, so, I need some opinions.
I've always been a night-owl, I can never sleep at night so I've given up on trying and made a few lifestyle choices to better suit my needs. I used to be up all night aimlessly surfing the Internet and on Tumblr, then I decided that while I was by no means overweight, I could stand to lose a few pounds and tone up. So, I started exercising. Well, instead of spending four hours with my laptop having a love affair with it in my lap, I decided to dedicate one or two hours to doing cosplay covers of dances on Omegle, it's fun, and it's a GREAT workout.
I do JPOP and KPOP dance covers, and a lot of anime dance covers as well. The Lucky Star OP, Hare Hare Yukai, PonPonPon ( Len Version ), you name it. They all look incredibly easy, but trust me, they're not. Twenty minutes in and you're sweating like a stuck pig. An hour in and you feel like dying or stripping off all of your clothes and lying naked in front of an industrial-sized fan. Two hours and you feel like a god because you survived it, but your hair is plastered to your face and there are sweat spots on your clothes.
I kind of feel like I'm cheating though, because it's midnight, and I'm about to do my daily routine. I feel like it won't do much for me since I'm going to bed in four or five hours and because I haven't yet gotten up and eaten anything except a midnight snack.
What do you guys think?

That's awesome that you found something so fun AND is hard work! I definitely agree... dancing like those Kpop/Jpop singers looks easy but it's definitely not.
It's absolutely not a waste of time. I have read different articles about when you should work out, but it seems like it only makes a slight difference, if any. My only recommendation would be to grab a high protein snack after your work out to feed your muscles that you just killed0 -
If you're more comfortable working out on a midnight then I say go for it. I don't subscribe to the myth that you burn more fat by working out early in the morning on an empty stomach. Either way, we are burning the vast majority of our calories by doing our everyday activities & in fact we burn more fat when we are sleeping.0
