I am on vacation next week and won't be able to post the Week 9 topic. Is anyone willing to post the Week 9 update next Monday morning in my absence? Thanks!

Well done Jay! Congrats! How much do you think you can exceed it?

Couple of updates: The C5 Vette has been out and I feel like all we've been doing is working on the dang thing for past 3 weeks. We knew there was an IAT sensor problem when we bought it last November. However, replacing the sensor didn't fix the problem. After lots of testing and visual inspections, it turns out the…

First, congrats on your 30lb loss! It's a great accomplishment. Well done! I agree, not enough calories. You've likely slowed your metabolism by eating so little plus exercising. Bad combo. You'll need to eat a lot more to get your metabolism going again, may gain a few pounds back in the process, but you'll quickly lose…

New total is 7.68%. Not a very good week for me, but still a loss. Not sure the next two weeks will be very good either. I'll be on vacation. I'm afraid I'm not going to eat very well. This last week I had too many carbs on Monday and it was TOM. Double whammy.

Hi Lisa! I'm only a 3.5hr drive from ya. Small world. I've been low carb on and off for about 2.5 years now since my doctor recommended it. Why I ever quit eating low carb is beyond me. This time around I've realized this diet is what my body prefers, so I need to make it a lifestyle. I don't really follow any particular…

FR sent! :-)

20lbs in 10 weeks and almost 4 inches around the gut! I rarely get headaches, my pollen allergies have almost disappeared, my poo is healthier, I sleep better, and I have more energy to do the things I love.

Frob, I'd be interested in what your results and/or experience is regardless. My ratio of food appears to have a greater effect on my TDEE as well. I use to exercise like crazy, but could never lose a pound or inch until I started eating low carb. I learned last year while keeping my carbs under 50g, I need 40%-30% protein…

Great job so far! Keeping your blood sugar under control will definitely help you get that pump!

I didn't get a chance to post my weigh-in last Friday, but here it is finally: down 7.45% total. Woot! That's 13.2 lbs lost since starting this challenge. @TattooTwinset: Oh no! lol. Yes, you're still part of the challenge.

For only trying it for one day, those hunger pains were likely your body screaming for carbs. If you are going to do low carb eating, you need to stick with it for 2-3 weeks to detox before you feel better and your body starts to adjust. Calories do count while on low carb. However, studies show a metabolism boost on low…

I counted 6 weeks left on Monday. Now it's almost 5 1/2.

Down 11lbs today since starting this challenge. My new total is 6.21%. I also made my monthly weigh-in a day early! On track for meeting my weight goals.

Hi Kelly, thanks for joining the challenge. Good luck on your weight loss goal!

I always have room for more low carb friends. :-)

Agree, likely lack of potassium. Unless you're buying expensive entric coated (slow release) multi-vitamins, you're only absorbing 7-11% of it, and most of that absorption is B and C vitamins. The rest is destroyed by stomach acid. If you're eating a well balanced diet, there's no need for a multi-vitamin. Eat more beans,…

I totally agree. When I work on a car, I do not look pretty when I'm done. I wish they would show them doing the actual work. Time lapse scenes would be great. I'd also like to see how they solve situations that require lots of arm strength. Sometimes I just can't get a part off myself. A BFH or torch isn't always the best…

New total is 5.42%. I'm down some even though I had pizza and tacos over the weekend. Phew!

1400-1500 net calories per day. I'm at 50g carbs MAX. I typically have less than that more like 10%-5%. 30-35% protein, and fat is whatever is leftover, typically between 50%-60%. Sometimes I'm a hair over 60% on fat. My results since February are a 2lb lose per a week average.

Mmmm bacon... Eggs, firm or aged cheese, avocados, olives, fatty salad dressings w/ no more than 2g net carbs per 2 TBSP serving, and olive oil. Oh, you should download this from Atkin's website too if you haven't already: http://www.atkins.com/AtkinsDotCom/media/Master/1310AtkinsCarbCounter.pdf In the beginning they get…

Lol, I love eggs too! You definitely need to eat more. I personally have a really tough time losing an ounce when I eat less than my BMR. Try to eat between your BMR and TDEE. As for Macros, many people like to do high fat low carb, which is 70% fat. I find the higher fat 70% doesn't work as well for me. I need at least…

I've heard of stomach pain and bowel problems, but not dry skin. It's a hit or miss for people when it comes to artificial sweeteners and sugar alcohols.

More info is needed to help troubleshoot such as seeing your diary, BMR, TDEE, carb goal, calorie goal, exercise, how you prepare food, etc.
-
Lol, I'm super boring for lunch during the week compared to everyone. Hunk of grilled chicken with some ranch dressing.
-
Keep up the great work everyone!

Overall goal weight is 135lbs, then I'll start focusing on body fat % This month my goals are to: -Lose 8lbs by April 30th -Continue to look at soda as a treat and not an everyday beverage (recently kicked the habit) -Get back to my P90 exercise videos -Get my stupid taxes done

Whoa, old thread. lol I always have room for new low carb friends. :-)
