  • Awesome thread! Man I'm laughing hysterically! I love people watching too. When I joined my gym back in January I didn't want people "people watching" me. So I slunked into the cardio theatre each day and worked out in the dark. I would just ignore people but "competitive man" would always end up on the AMT machine next to…
  • Yes yes! I know I'm not alone. It's so frustrating right? I feel your pain. This has been my struggle most of my adult life. I know how to do it, yet there are always obstacles that I let get in my way. Honestly I'm tired of this :( I am strong, why can't I act like it? Anywho... I think I'll go watch the Biggest Loser.…

  • Excellent! And he's so right. I didn't learn about nutrition as a child, but I know better now. I teach my children every day and I've taught them to cook their own healthy meals. It's time for a movement. Love it.
  • EXCELLENT! You must feel so amazing! WTG! Keep it up :D
  • Haha! Man, that's exactly why I won't buy those things when I'm trying to be a good girl. They are WAY too tempting for me to just leave them alone.
  • Yeah the zumba class I took last week had jumping jack moves and a ton of super fast feet motion that kept my heart just racing! She told us at the end of 60 minutes that we burned over 600 calories. So it sounds like they are all different.

  • My trainer this morning told me Edamame was going to be my best friend when I need to get in high calories, few carbs, little fat and a bunch of fiber oh and 12 grams of protein per serving!!! So that's what my lunch is at the moment and mmmm! I know it will be filling :)
  • That's me too! I have just over 70 pounds to go :)
  • Oh man that sounds HEAVENLY! lol
  • That rocks! I can't wait until I can do that type of picture too! So inspirational! Keep up the fantastic work!
  • Sorry. Didn't mean this would work for everyone. I have 75 pounds to lose, so it will work well for me right now. She said she will adjust it as I lose weight.
  • Wow, you gave me the inspiration I needed this morning to keep on trucking. You look utterly fantastic!!!
  • Woohoo! Great job!!!!!!!
  • Absolutely amazing! You are an inspiration. Keep up the fantastic work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
  • WAY TO GO! That is a great acheivement!!!
  • That is AWESOME! That is my dream as well. I haven't been in onederland since my early 20's.
  • I was just sharing what an expert told me.
  • I'm not saying the army is my trusted research. My zumba instructor has been a personal trainer for a very long time and she's definitely an expert when it comes to fitness and health. I will put my faith in someone with that much expertise. She obviously knows what she is doing. And believe me...it's not what I'm putting…
  • Way to GO! You are so inspiring! Thanks for sharing!!!!! :)
  • I've been researching this all morning since she told me and I read this: "U.S. Army research shows Sauna use can burn as many as 300 calories during one sauna session. This happens both due to the sweating process itself, and due to increased heart rate. Even though most of the weight lost in sauna is water, regular sauna…
  • My daughter makes a fabulous homemade hummus. She makes homemade wheat pitas too and then grills them. It's a fabulous appetizer! I'll be bringing a bunch of organic veggies to dip also. I'm planning on making homemade guacamole too. I use organic avocados, lemon juice, cilantro, a little salt and fresh garlic. So healthy…
  • I'm 5'9" and my goal is 165 (see my avatar). At my lightest I was 175 and I looked and felt fabulous....10 pounds lighter and I would have been what I consider "perfect!" So yes, I think you are right on track. I'm also very large boned....are you?
  • I went to my first class tonight and LOVEDDDDDDDDD it! I have been working out for the past 10 days every day and that was BY FAR the most intense fat burning exercise I've done in 60 minutes. After it was over, I was all red and sweaty and she told us we just burned 700 calories. I believe it! Seriously...if you have a…

  • Good question! I'm going to do my first Zumba class tonight and I'm so looking forward to it!
  • Wow thanks for all the good info. Ok so if my max heart rate is 186, then I should be at 102-111 for maximum fat burning calories? That would be HARD to stay at that HR...wouldn't it?
  • Ok according to that link these are my stats: Resting Heart Rate = 75 bpm Age = 34 Max Heart Rate = 186 Intensity 50-55% = 131-136 60-65% = 142-147 70-75% = 153-158 80-85% = 164-169 So if my heart rate has been around 140-143 during my 30 or 60 minute cardio sessions, then I'm working out at 60-65% intensity. Therefore,…
  • Fantastic! You are truly an inspiration! How long did it take you to lose the first 100 pounds? You look Mahvelous!
