  • if it was a planned change, it would have been nice if all the morning, afternoon and evening snacks were all moved to the snacks category instead of disappearing

  • While weighing your food is not as important right now, get into the habit. This is portion control. You can see visually what the size compared to weight looks like. Processed food has a lot of additives, especially salts, so limit those, but do not deprive yourself of something you really like. If you deprive yourself,…
  • The scale can lie. step on the scale. drink a glass of water, step on the scale again and will probably see a gain of 1lb. Unless you need to be a specific weight class for something, measurements are more accurate. Most of the time when deciding to lose weight it is due to what we see in the mirror or how our clothes are…
  • Portion control. I still have a cookie. I finally figured out to not have a selection of different kinds, but only 1 kind available so that i can have 1 or 2, not 1 of each kind. Chocolate is broken down and kept in the freezer. A couple of small pieces end my day. Chips are my downfall, the bag must be comsumed in one…
  • do you have a hobby or something that will engage the mind or hands after dinner (5pm)? If you really need something after 5, have you tried any low cal snacks like air popped popcorn? Start slow, messing up 1 day, does not need to mess up the whole process. Most of us will back slide whether we admit it to others or not,…
  • I have a weekly food schedule. Same thing each week, so I log every day in at the beginning of the week and just adjust anything that is different such as an extra snack, change the veg from beans to peas, etc. I find that this way, it only takes a few minutes to finish the day. Also saves on trying to decide what to eat…
  • welcome to MFP, in the exercise tab of MFP do you see "Fitbit calorie adjustment"? If you do, you are set up. it will not record the individual steps, stairs, etc, but an adjustment of the calories burned. It can be a bit confusing, i record all food in MFP, but let exercise be recorded automatically through fitbit.

  • Thank you for the input. timewise, the double workout if difficult to fit in.
  • I do use a scale except for salads or cooked veggies. Does the diary not show the calorie intake when you view it? I average 1200 - 1400 daily.
  • If you are seeing the doctor regarding Celiac Disease, DO NOT cut out your gluten until after testing. You need to have gluten in your body for the tests to work. I have been researching this a bit as we think my husband is either gluten sensitive or has Celiac Disease. They have the same symptoms. I would suggest…
  • I joined WW in Oct 2012. I have lost 60 lbs. I am online only (Canada) and I have found the 100+ board to be the best. The members of the board do not judge you, but offer support and suggestions, or just let you vent if need be. This group of people are very open to newcomers. I hit a plateau and remembered that I had…
  • Another Winnipegger here. Grew up Ontario and Yellowknife. Feel free to add me.
  • I take my breakfast to work. Greek Yogurt, fruit and bran buds. I take in separate containers and mix at work. I have never tried taking premixed. I find it filling and lasts me to lunch (about 4 hours).

  • I am blind (legally according to the eye doctor) without my glasses. The only time I do not wear them is swimming. I may wear an old pair (not up to date, so blurry) if I am afraid that they will fall off.
  • I think he has mentioned asteo and degenerative. I am pretty sure he said his back was degenerative disc.
  • No drugs perscribed. He just says minor arthirtis. Feels it more when the weather changes and it is damp.
  • Current fitness level is I would say average. The past 3 months, I have been working out with 10 lb dumbbells 3 times a week and zumba or HIIT or elliptical (Moderate intensity) for the other 3 or 4 days a week. I want to do something that would help in losing the last 30 lbs and tone myself. I workout at home early in the…
  • I had one for 4 sessions and she started me on strength training. Pricy, but she knew that I wanted an at home workout and helped me to develop one.
  • new balance toning walking shoes. I have a fairly high arch, but I also had arc support half insoles. It was only my right foot.
  • no name creamer powder and sugar. I find liquid milk or creamer cools it down too quickly. Tried the brand names, I prefer the no name from Superstore.

  • Make a hot chocolate with cocoa and a touch of sugar. 1 tablespoon of cocoa has 12 cal, 1 teaspoon of sugar has 16 cal. Water has 0 total cals 28. (marshmallows extra) Can you tell I am in Canada and there is still 3 feet of snow outside lol
  • Do you have a yonanas machine? The recipe book has a pumpkin pie recipe. It is pretty good, I also add no fat whip cream.
  • I used to do mine in the evening after getting home from work, but before dinner. I switched to first thing in the morning just due to timing, not for the difference in numbers. I switched up my routine just because I found that I was eating later due to working out in the evening. I now just do everything in the morning…
  • Low fat dressing as a dip. Works for all my raw veggies. I especially like mixing the ranch and salsa ranch. A bit of each side by side, by the time I am done, they have mixed together.
  • I do not know if this will help. I am not an expert or all that knowledgeable, but I do cardio 3x week for 20 min, strength 3x week for 20 min, core 6x week for 20 min and stretching 7x week for 10 min. The 7th day is my rest day so I just do a bit of stretching. My rest day is weigh in day (as I am also with weigh…
  • I pick whatever is showing me weigh more. Usually they are within a pound, but at least I am not underestimating my weight. I have also played around with various clothing and drinking water. If you have any exact weights like dumbbells, put that on your scale and it should show what is correct.
  • I try to get my 8 cups of water in every day, but do not always succeed. If I count my coffee, I have succeeded. I can have it sitting beside me, but don't always notice it there. I work on a computer at a desk and I have set a task in my email to pop up every hour simply saying "H2O". This is my signal to have some water.…
  • I am 5'6" and my wrist is 6 inches. I would look very sickly at anywhere under 130 - 140. Actually, never saw 130 even in high school. Always closer to 140. 88 lbs would not look good and would not be healthy. Weight training will slim down the trouble areas and and make you look a lot slimmer than you really are. I have…
