I'm 45 years ols, 5'4" and about 190#. This is the heaviest I have EVER been. I was around 170# when I got married in 1995, went to Nursing school, had half my thyroid removed and lost 30# without really trying. Then I stalled at that weight until 2006 when I began lifting heavy (for me anyway), cardio and VLCD and I lost…

Are you losing weight now? Along with still building muscle or at leat maitaining the muscle you have? I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 1997 and had partial removal. It wasn't until the past 4-5 years that i have had difficulty with losing weight or maintaining it. I would get your blood levels tested and if possible…

Don't give up, the weight didn't appear over night so it wont leave that quickly either. You might read the thread "eat. More to weigh less " that's helped me out alot

I just logged into Katch-McCardle since I too found out my body fat% . It tells me my BMR is 1760. Now what do I do?

Congrats!!!!, your hair is a beautiful color of red, keep up the great work

Read the thread Eat more to weigh less. From my understanding you should always eat your TDEE-15% everyday, dont go below your BMR. Hope this helps

Read the thread called. Eat more to weigh less and I think it will answer your questions

For me this journey is a lifestyle change so I don't look at any food as Bad. I take everything in moderation, account for it and continue on. So I guess my question for you is, is can you live without potatoes for the rest of your life and not feel guilty about it?

Hi all....I'm Theresa. I started on MFP back in March but wasn't taking it seriously until about a month ago. I lost 45# and maintained that for 15years. Then I quit smoking and have not taken my health seriously for around 3 years. With that said, I'm ready to take my life and health back!! This is a lifestyle change for…

I'm up usually around 0400 or 0430 to exercise. On occasions I will work out in the evening too, but that is usually few and far between! I have to commute and hour each way, so in order to get it in I have to get up this early. Right now I'm having difficulty with it since the time changed and i want to sleep!
