I balanced a school schedule and night shifts for a year. I would go to school Monday-Thursday and work at a fast food restaurant Thursday-Saturday (10PM-6AM). I could eat anything I wanted because there was no one there to care, and sometimes I did get out of control. The key to not overeating at night is sleeping enough.…

Tegan and Sara... Heartthrob album :)

My favourite place to go cruisin' is at the vegetarian/vegan grocery stores... so many cute cashiers- oh my! In all seriousness, I think you should begin by frequenting vegan groups, get-together, potlucks, etc.... then hope to get lucky!

I read recently that Yohan Blake, the second-fastest runner in the world, ate 16 bananas a day! High in carbs and sugar but filling and fueling! ETA: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/other-sports/athletics/yohan-blake-revealed-a-diet-of-bananas-1112315#.UuU_elMo7cs

I haven't worked very hard towards my fitness goals in the past 2 days (I have the flu, so I've been keeping the moving to a minimum aha). BUT, I braved terrible -40 temperatures four times this week and walked the kilometer to the gym to work out! Pretty proud of that! Darn Canada!

That sounds really tough. My sister is a type 1 diabetic and I see the struggle she goes through every day with a (seemingly) bipolar blood sugar. It must be very difficult to keep a consistent, healthy diet throughout. Feels.

I'm 18, from Quebec, Canada and also relatively new to mfp! Feel free to add :)

I've only been eating breakfast for 3 weeks--as part of my new year's resolution to conquer compulsive urges later in the day--and so far it`s been great! I usually have: 1 cup blueberries+1 banana+1tbsp peanut butter or 200 grams of tofu with a condiment or trail mix when I'm particularly lazy, but that gets out of hand…

I'm in my last semester of college and eating clean sure is challenging! Feel free to add me!

Not sure if this thread is about tattoos or turn-offs. In the case of the former, I like a nice, well-defined tattoo. I don`t like those that are too complicated. Backstories are always interesting; but if the tattooed person has a lame explanation for their ink, that`s a deal-breaker. Big turn-off: penciled eyebrows in…

You are evil...but lovely... gimme that!

Been there. The next day is less than pleasurable  I do this all the time. I can eat half a kilo of trail mix--"healthy food". Or a big bag of half-thawed frozen fruits (with PB of course). For awhile, I would eat dry cornflakes with mustard (wut?) because it was low-calorie. It's easy to restrict the "bad" junk, but…

I was shocked at how much protein can be consolidated in a small block of tofu! That and legumes of any kind. I throw hemp powder in my smoothies (lactose intolerance and a low budget make many other protein powders out of the question).

Ha! Funny, I clicked on the thread just to provide that very same link :)

I'm not a sugar baby, but I relate to this post. "Who the HELL ate goldfish crackers in the bathroom!???" Yuh. Uh. Definitely not me, nope nope nope.

Interesting! I'd never heard of it before. I may give it a shot once I start working more carbs into my regimen. At the moment, since I'm vegan, I'm grateful for the 8-16 grams of fat from my gooey paramour! They keep my body cells together and keep me away from starches!

It's difficult to explain why this is so difficult during a binge episode, but it's crucial to the process of getting binges under control for sure!

Peanut butter + oatmeal = heaven I'm on a low-carb kick at the moment; however, ain't NOBODY taking away my beloved PB. I usually cut up a banana, add in some blueberries and swirl in 1-2 tablespoons of my fix ;)

You are lovely. (I wish my body talked to me like that!) A non-food-related way to control binges, in my opinion, is to keep busy. Get out of the house. If you have nothing to do, invent something to do. Solicit friends who provide you with positive and fun entourage. The key to not bingeing is not to deprive yourself. You…

I'm not overweight, but I've struggled with serious binge eating episodes for the last two years (preceded by years of starving and purging). In the last year, which was hands down the most difficult and stressful of my life, I often found myself surrounded by boxes and wrappers, in pain, and filled with shame. I was too…

I refuse to listen to any BS about having to "go to bed hungry". Sure, I won't go to bed stuffed with junk (I try not to, anyway) but deprivation always leads to relapse or illness. Always. The other rules seem straightforward enough, but I find it presumptuous of this guy to make these rules as if they are unanimously…

When I was 15-16, I was rummaging through the shoe closet for some boots when my guy friend walked in. When I turned around: "You scared me! I thought you were your (tall and skinny) sister. You look thinner when you're bending over." Thanks.
