  • I read about StrongLifts the other day and am quite intrigued by the concept. I'm thinking of starting it sometime this week but have a few questions to those who are undertaking it or have done it before. Can you add cardio to the StrongLifts regime as I am currently doing 2-3 sessions of HIIT? My main goal is to get rid…
  • I was also wondering this. I have the Polar FT4 with chest strap and sometimes feel that maybe the calorie counter is being over-estimated. But I'm not sure at all. Also, a question do people leave the timer on during weights the whole time or do you stop and start the watch at each set. I leave it running even when I'm…
  • Thanks will try this. Was looking to cut out my fruit as I know it has a lot of sugar/carbs. I don't want to go on a really low carb diet but in the range of 100-150 g a day. Do you think this would work or would I need to go lower? I'm only really looking to lose 30 more pounds.
  • Carbs for me - I swear I could eat roast potatoes for days, white rice and bread. Ughhhh....
  • Bump. I'm going through the exact same phase as you. I've tried to cut out down my carbs - no more bread, and a reduction in fruit. Fingers crossed hope it works out well.
  • London guy here would welcome more friends on here. So add me if you like :D
  • Curves all the wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy.....
  • Wow big respect and congratulations. You look great!
  • Bump, I also wanted to know the best peanut butter that I could get in the UK as lot are just full of sugar. I just bought some Whole Earth Smooth Organic Peanut Butter with no added sugar - I think this would do fine and contains quite a lot of protein! Any other suggestions?
  • To be honest you should forget about exercising when you're ill. Most important thing should be your health so get better first. Hope you feel well soon.
  • Best time to drink them is probably after your workout as they aid in repairing your muscles. I'm using Phd Whey Protein and it's great. I have one scoop in the morning somtimes and then 2 scoops after workout.
  • Tend to eat 3 meals a day with 2-3 snacks of fruit/nuts in between. Seeing as I do my workout after work usually around 5-6pm my biggest meal is dinner so I can eat back some of the calories that I have burned. I don't think it really matters so long as you are not starving yourself throughout the day!
  • You're implying that America has never committed an act of terrorism on another country or had a helping hand in terrorist acts? Do some research. And no I don't think killing Osama would make other terrorists think twice - as they say you can kill the messenger but you can't kill the message. These terrorists don't care…
  • That has to be the most ignorant post I've seen on this board. What's with the 'it sends a message to everyone else who might think to try to **** with the united states of america.?' Like you're the one out there doing any of the fighting? Like America/Britain haven't ever killed thousands of people, let a lone those…
  • Obviously it's good news that he's gone and the world will be a better place without him. I am not for one second forgetting those killed in 9/11 one of the worst tragedies that I have witnessed to date, but please do not forget those who were/are killed in Iraq, Afghanistan even those in Palestine and Kashmir and all over…
  • I've had the worst Bank Holiday in terms of food. Had bro's 18th and then a friend's birthday - both full of alcohol and not the healthiest of foods. However back at work yesterday and found my routine again. I find it much easier to be in a routine of eating well and exercising when at work. Weekends are just full of…
  • I was thinking the same thing, thanks for the explanation guys!
  • Congrats you can see a massive difference. Keep up the good work
  • Great stuff and congratulations. You look gorgeous!
  • Completely obsessed to the point where my friends think I'm being stupid, but they don't understand!!
  • Protein Shake and Wholemeal toast with Peanut Butter. Getting a bit bored of that now so am going to try change it up with some eggs/oatmeal.
  • HIIT training is really good for you as it burns more calories after you have finished your workout. I do it around 2 times a week on the treadmill just to get my body into a mode where it doesn't know what's happening because your heart rate keeps fluctuating. That's what you want - your heart rate to be really high at…
  • Book a holiday somewhere hot and feel better about taking my top off and sunbathing, along with a serious shopping spree! BOOM
  • Thanks guys, I didn't think that the prime reason would be the protein shakes. I was just told by some people that they can cause upset stomachs!
  • You want a mix of carbs, protein and even fat in your diet. Good carbs would be foods like nuts, fresh veg and fruit, seeds. Pasta, bread and rice are fine as long as they are wholegrain. Bad cabs would be processed foods and packaged foods, white pasta/rice/bread.
  • Thanks guys! I wasn't too sure about exceeding the sugar levels at first but realised this must be from the natural ones in the fruits. Also, will try to add some protein to the morning snack.
