Thanks all! We are trying to get him to get some help with his depression, but it's a touchy subject with him. We went to the grocery store today and we are currently making him (to freeze) spaghetti/meat sauce, turkey meatloaf, white chili with chicken, quiche, chicken stir fry, and asian marinated chicken drumsticks. All…

Oh, he knows what he's supposed to eat.. he just doesn't care. He's gone through a lot of education and was very good with his diet until my mom left. He's not diabetic. Thanks! I will keep those guidelines in mind (he knows, I don't lol).

Wow, why didn't I think about of that? He absolutely loves my cooking but because of his depression, only makes it over for dinner about twice a month.. he would love that! When I went over there last, I took him our leftover taco soup and I think he ate it all day the day after, lol. Healthier and easy and something he…

Sushi is my absolute fave food. Miso soup and sashimi if I have few calories. Add a tuna roll if I have my normal amount of calories left. Add a philly roll if I saved up my calories specifically for it! The only thing that stops me from eating it daily is the cost.

If you want to watch your calories, def go for sashimi instead of sushi, avoid rolls with mayo and tempura (crispy, crunchy, deep-fried..). I'm having sushi tonight for my birthday dinner and I can't wait, it's my favorite. We will be ordering an assorted sashimi plate, a tuna roll, a cucumber roll and a specialty roll…

Any diet that made me give up coffee would never last!!!

I don't, simply because I need to make sure I drink extra water (because I'm breastfeeding).. but my doctor told me you can count both tea and coffee.

We spend $100/week for a family of 4 (one is a baby so doesn't eat, but the $100 does include her diapers). 1.) Make a menu and a shopping list ahead of time. Base your menu on sales. 2.) Stock up when things are on sale. I just bought 6 boxes of whole wheat pasta because it was on sale. There were no good meat sales this…

I'm taking my daughter to McDonald's for lunch tomorrow! She's been stuck inside because of the snow since Tuesday and going crazy.. so we are going to pack up the baby and walk to McD's, have lunch and play on the playground. As long as you are under your calories and get enough fat/protein a day... you can eat whatever…

I got mine awhile back for $18 at Bed, Bath & Beyond. You can get a 20% off coupon on their website.

I was told recently by a lactation consultant to drink a dark beer every night, so I make room for it!

I wish chicken was $1.77/lb here! It goes on sale about once a month for $1.99/lb and I do stock up when it does. Thanks all! Got some great ideas. We have about $100/week for a family of 4 (including the youngest's diapers).. which is more than some people but still doesn't go very far.

I'm going to try that salad dressing with lemon juice recipe for lunch today since my husband took our bottle of salad dressing to work with him, lol. Topic: I love low sodium V8

Yep, I'm not my child's trash can.. I learned that LONG ago, thankfully, so I don't have a problem with that! As for everything else, since I started logging, I've stopped doing it.

Guess I should've mentioned that I did try and give bigger portions to him but he never finishes it, lol. Like last night, I made chicken stir fry (tons of veggies, not a lot of chicken) and brown rice. I measured out a 1/2 cup of rice for me and gave him prob twice that amount (didn't measure)... but he ended up eating…
