I think any sword work counts!

Thanks for the advice! I definitely want to go further with yoga and maybe some tai chi, although that seems more focused towards mental strength as well. (I'm sure it's physical too!)

Thanks! Could you send me the Amazon link? I tried looking and found Katana as well as this Swordsmanship DVD, which seems like a good one to have if you are serious about using swords (especially real ones):…

Definitely! I workout with a sword...does it get any nerdier than that? My motto: "Level up your life!" haha

haha! I just started a sword workout, maybe you can use your own for it! Nerd fitness!

Thank you for your reply! I'm going to do more research on Kendo. Everyone that I have talked to about sword workouts have given me the same feedback in terms of effectiveness: shoulders, back and arms. And I appreciate you point on the home weapon training program. I would be concerned to do the workout by myself (at…

Have you tried a sword workout? I started with TKD and a couple of my classmates got started with Steel MBS. Its pretty cool...combines martial arts with a little tai chi.

Luckily there are so many new options to the gym. I do a sword workout that gets a lot of stares but is pretty awesome... my friend was even used in a video game ad for them, haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZytqI15_zo

haha, I'm right there with you! I love parks as well for walking and running. There's a lot of equipment you can take with you as well...yoga mat, weights, resistance bands, etc. I've even seen people with swords out there. I'd be interested in trying that workout!

Of all the activities I do, the sword workout I do is my favorite! Its not fencing or forza, but you use a real sword to do tai chi-like moves. My friends and I always have a great time getting a workout and tons of looks from passerbys when we work out at the park or beach! It's called Steel MBS....really fun. There's…

I know what you mean about finding people to duel....I tried this sword workout with my friends called Steel MBS. Its a real sword but the workout is a bit more like tai chi you could say. there's some cool moves and I end up making up a lot of my own. Plus the looks you get when youre on the beach working out with a sword…

I've doing this workout with friends that uses a sword....it's actually really fun and we get into it. It's called Steel MBS and its a bit like tai chi but you use a real sword for balance. It's really fun and it feels more like you're a ninja or in a video game than working out!

I've recently gotten into this new sword workout... also feels like i'm playing a video game! Next best thing right? Its called Steel MBS...they have an funny blog too.

I do tai chi at home...I've recently found a sword workout as well that is a lot like tai chi but works as a weight to build more muscle. But, you need a pretty large space to be wielding a sword around!

Thanks! I've been trying this workout with a sword...I guess it can be categorized as "fencing?" haha
