  • I feel your pain. I currently have 7 bags of clothes in 6 different sizes to get rid of - mostly giving away. Thankfully my sister gave me a bunch of clothes that helped when i first started loosing. Now I'm just buying a few basic pieces - 1 pair of work pants a few tops 1 pair of jeans and mostly dresses. Just buying a…
  • give it some time - it'll become easy in no time at all. Fruits and veggies are obviously good snack items. I also keep a basket of 100 calorie snacks at home and pack a couple each day. I've found 100 calorie packs of nuts too - they are small but go a long way. Yogurt is a good breakfast - and is more filling when you…
  • I've just heard too many horror stories of people dying on diet pills. I'm too paranoid to try them. Even the surgery - almost everyone I know that's had surgery has had complications. It can be done without it - even if you only have 27 to loose. I did a biggest looser competetion at work as part of a team. Most of the…
  • I LOVE this site! It's like my new best friend (well not so new anymore I've been here since early this year) :) Glad to hear about it on the Today Show! My life has changed and it has trickled to many of my family members - who have joined and their lives have changed!! Good luck!
  • I think that is why mfp is set to let you only loose no more than 2 lbs a week. any more than that isn't healthy. I don't think there is anything wrong w/ losing water weight - when it's like at the begining of your program or maybe after a plateau or after tom. You retain water when you eat lots of sodium and on tom and…
  • Will you have internet access at all?? Maybe you could set up a table w/ pictures of the locations you'll be visiting and a sign up list w/ email addresses of people who would like to receive a newsletter or blog from you guys of your adventure. I'm sure as you share your struggles along w/ your accomplishments - those…
  • Yes i do! It's a lot of fun when i don't feel like doing a regular workout! And it IS a workout!

  • I love Edy's slow churned ice cream or frozen yogurt. It varies between 100 and 130 calories a serving. 1/2 is a small serving so make sure you measure it out so you don't go over. But I love that just about every night i can still have my ice cream!
  • The funniest thing I've noticed - those things I've missed like crazy if I do try them - I no longer like them. Once I got about 40lbs off I started to allow my self to "splurge" occasionaly as long as it was in moderation, nothing too extreme etc. But I've found I can really only eat small portions (so not really worth…
  • Also if you're moving and packing - if you moved your scale - it could need recalibrated. but sounds like replacing the battery may help. Good luck with everything!
  • http://www.subwayfreshbuzz.com/menu/every_day_value/ then click on a sandwhich on the right then nutrition under the picture and then build to the right of nutrition. it's a little hard to find but once you do it's fun to play on

  • I eat one every day for lunch at work (so at least 5 times a week) BUT I stay very natural/ healthy/unprocessed w/ my other meals and snacks. Also you can change your tracker to include sodium so you can see where you are to make sure you aren't eating to much sodium. That was a very eye opening for me. If I get too close…
  • ME again! LOL saying it again - VEGGIES and FRUIT! snack size baggies of sliced strawberries, bananas, kiwi, melon, watermelon, apples and cheese wedges are good (most grocery stores have snack packs of apples and kraft has 100 cal packs of cheese. And if you need dip like i do for veggies - t marzetti has a southwestern…

  • I always wander the same thing. It always asks but nothing ever changes.
  • saw this idea on a forum on here. Take spaghetti squash and mix w/ a light laughing cow wedge. YUMMY!!! I used a half a squash and 2 wedges and was just over 100 calories. Was an amazing side dish!!!!!!!
  • I like Quaker Oats True Delights Toasted Cocunut Macadamia Nut granola bar. It's a little high at 140 cals but it has a lot of whole grains so it keeps me full. I also like the laughing cow cheese w/ crackers (wheat thins toasted chips or flatbreads) or it it also good on celery. Celery and carrots and the fat free…
  • OH!!! will have to try that! I have half a left over squash I wasn't sure what to do with! They do have a garlic and onion laughing cow I think.
  • Yup you get to choose what posts to facebook. Mine is set to how many days I've logged in and # of lbs lost. (not actual weight). Nothing from fb posts to here.
  • I LOVE Edy's slow churned frozen yogurt! Also - the more you do this - the less of a sweet tooth you'll have. I started this w/ my favorite drink being Sweet Tea and now sweet tea is disgusting to me and I'm happy w/ plain unsweetened tea w/ lemon.
  • Congrats! I'm currently in 3rd place about 2/3 of the way through my work's Biggest Looser Competition! It's great!!
  • I'm all for splurges - i think the main thing is quantity. Don't "pig out" and eat tons and tons. Go get a cheeseburger but skip the fries or have 2 pieces of pizza not 6. Tomorrow night is our big family dinner and I intend to have a little bit of everything including mashed potatoes and homemade mac and cheese but it…
  • I actually started tracking everything on here about 2 weeks before I officially started (we are doing a Biggest Loser challenge at work) It really helped to just see where i was at and make adjustments. I always stay between 1200 and 1350 (what it allows me) and never eat exercise calories. I have been consistenly losing…
  • Happy Birthday! And Good luck!!
  • Sounds like you ate the rice pretty late in the evening. Remember the theory of not feeding rice to birds - cause it all swells up. Could have a lot to do w/ it. It swelled and absorbed all your water. drink lots of water and I'm sure that 1lb will be back off tomorrow or the next day. Also - i never eat my exercise…
  • I'm no expert but i do seem to do better at weight loss when i eat more (but stay w/ in my goal) Try adding some veggies. I'm finding lots of fruits and veggies in little pre packaged containers. I may eat something similar to you but have some strawberries as a morning snack. And I eat two afternoon snacks. Usually…
  • It's not unusual to lose that much the first week. It's such a dramatic change. I lost 6 my first week. It'll even out in a week or so and you'll only loose 1-4 a week. I average 2.
  • I never eat them. But I really tend to only do 3 workouts a week so I'm not doing a ton of working out. I just make sure and stay over 1200.
  • Pop! I quite drinking it last June! Lost weight w/o even trying!
  • Welcome! I love it here! And Congratulations!
