When I said "kills me" I meant it kicks my *kitten*. I push myself and lift heavy despite people claiming females shouldn't lift heavy. It wasn't meant in a negative way

Thanks soo much. I really hate the 'muscle confusion' stuff too. My thing was if I still feel like it's hard work, how could it not be working? Yes it takes me quite a while to increase my weights but it still kills me when I do it so I assume I am doing something right.

Because I really just wanted to know if it would even be effective to do lower body work if I am using lighter weights than I normally do. If DBs and KBS target different muscle groups like the other poster said, I will do it. I just didn't want to waste my time if I wouldn't get the progress I'd get lifting with my normal…

No. I wasn't speaking about me. I was just speaking in general. If I don't weight train as much as I should (3-4 times a week) I feel like I am "losing" my muscle. I feel flabbier. It might be in my head.

No, not really. I have just always been curious about this subject. I have seen thin people who have cellulite and jiggle and look sloppy. I have seen thicker people who are technically "overweight" who look firm. I have always wondered why since it goes against a lot of what I was told about fitness.

Other opinions would be nice. I came here to get peoples opinions on this subject.

It's why I stopped looking at a scale. I have only looked at my weight once in the past 6 months or so. I am totally over numbers.
-
If these women are considered overweight, then I can safely say BMI is complete *kitten* and needs to get thrown out.
-
I didn't say overweight, I said thick.

I probably shouldn't have used picture examples, because people are tending to only focus on these pictures rather than the general topic.I posted pictures to give an example of the body type I was referring to. I have seen women in real life with these figures who do not jiggle. On the beach, during summer, wearing short…

I was not meaning every single old painting ever made. The vast majority of the ones I saw and grew up loving were of women with shapely beautiful bodies. Such as http://sharedhosting.siscom.net/~smolla/ebay/p-n1.jpg And these women were just two examples. I have seen this MANY times where a full figured woman is not jiggy.
-
Yes, my idea of toned just means not jiggly. I like these types of bodies because they are soft and feminine and just beautiful in my opinion. Their body types are similar to the bodies of women in old paintings. I grew up into art and this type of body was the "ideal" back then and maybe that is why I like the look. I…

Well, when I say "toned" I do not mean seeing muscle definition or anything. I just mean "not jiggly"! lol I ask because the woman in the first picture has a beautiful body. The type I aspire to have. She is not a stick figure, she is not muscular, she is shapely and fuller figured but not jiggly and sloppy looking. That…

Someone like this (and yes this pic was on a public website for thick women so I am allowed to post it) https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/1601123_584243541655226_589295653_n.jpg?oh=bd8b903a5ef9febb42b486383ce9c7a9&oe=55635C71&__gda__=1433109506_0bb88538d109d60e2766f588975f3a1d Or this…

Thank you!

A *kitten* ton. No guilt though. I eat well the vast majority of the time and exercise plenty. Today I ate like crazy but tomorrow I'm back to my same old routine.

Old thread but had to bump it. Anything made by WALDEN FARMS makes me want to vomit!! You have been warned. They are that "no calorie no carb" company that makes zero calorie alternatives for dips, dressings, tomato sauce, fluff, caramel syrup etc I've tried their dips, dressings, a ton of their products and every single…

I do cardio and weight training on separate days. Reason being A) Time B ) I want to get a good weight training session in and when I do cardio first it drains more energy from me, which makes my weight training sessions less intense. I do cardio (usually kick boxing/aerobics) around 40 minute sessions. Weight training is…

3 times a week usually every other day and I have been increasing the weight. Not sure how many months maybe...4-ish with the barbell. Before then I was lifting with weights that are too light. I've just seen people who weight lift and how drastically their butts change. I still have a lot of cellulite and my butt is still…

Thanks!!

That doesn't really answer my question. I physically cannot lift more than 6 reps my 2nd set, and 3 on my 3rd. It's not a matter of pushing myself, I just cannot lift that much with proper form. My question was, it is okay to do less reps with each set or do I have to be at a weight where I do an even amount of reps,…
-
So it is okay if I cannot do 8 reps each set? I thought you had to do a certain amount for each set. But I notice that with each set I can't do what I did in the previous set.
-
I honestly have no clue. I went from around 160 lbs to now 137 lbs in about 9 months. No one has mentioned anything about it to me. Which is kind of crazy because you'd assume it was a big enough weight loss to notice. I certainly have noticed it but no one has said anything otherwise.
-
Those are the exact exercises I am doing (bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, and overhead military presses). The next weight up is 20.
-
Very true. I won't work out tonight. Sucks because I am motivated but what can ya do.
-
Great! Because I was on pinterest and there are SO many good healthy recipes I can make sweet potatoes.
-
Ok thanks everyone for the replies :) I am relieved I don't have to cut my calories that low lmao
-
Yes I did. I set my goal to 2 pounds a week.
-
Thank you! I figured if I am weight lifting than I should be eating more than that.
