Thanks. When you say "low impact", what do you mean? No strain on the knees?
-
I hope this is just a way of speaking.
-
It might be that you won't lose more than .5 lbs per week. I am like that. Many are. I suppose you do not have a lot to lose either.
-
Sure. Although you will be judged big time by the "clean eating /wholesome foods" ayatollahs. Wait for it.

Go to a grocery store, straight to the produce aisle. Grab the equivalent of 15 pounds of potatoes. Hold them in your arms and walk around a bit. You'll look nuts :-), you will not carry your bags for a long time, but I bet you will realize how awesome you are for having lost all that weight.

I feel better outside my home, oddly. I guess I am distracted from thinking about my body. And I definitely feel (and look) better with clothes on - but because my skin is disgusting, not because of my weight.
-
Sorry. Just thought you had liked to hear from someone who has been on the very same boat, but was able to disembark - with a different mind set. I think it's cool sometime to hear about various experiences. Never mind. Good luck to all (sincerely).
-
You realize that there is a HUGE difference in calories between fruits, and vegetable?
-
My comment was blunt, but meant to be supportive as well. I am not saying it applies to you; but I have known so many women who sincerely thought that somehow, the fat gained during pregnancy was a special kind of fat or something, as if it was not just caused by eating too much (I am NOT taking about the "normal" weight…

It does not have to be.

When I quit smoking (from MINIMUM a pack a day, to zero cigarette), I spent months with cinnamon sticks in my hands and mouth. I looked silly. But smelled darn good. But I did not care - it was so important to quit smoking, and it was so hard. I used all the tricks that I could. That was in 2003, never touched a cigarette…

Same for me. With 1200 cals, it's three meals and two very small snacks (as in: an apple). There is this guy who always come here to say: "I eat ice cream everyday, no problem". Granted, if your lunch consists of cucumber dipped in vinegar, it's totally doable to save 250 or 300 points per day on ice cream ...

I am really not into those "self-help" books, but I have to say that this one was incredibly helpful. You can buy it from Amazon (download). One thing that I loved about what the author said, is that regardless of the psychological underlying issues that may be the deep root cause of binges, you do not HAVE to solve those…

Oh that made me feel better to read this. I was reading this thread, and was amazed that (almost) no one mentioned the age factor and long-term health damages. Because what, you are full of energy at 20 years-old? You can run without having a heart attack at 25? Get out of here ! ;-) Now seriously: I am waiting to see a 60…
-
"And while I can't run like I used to, I know I can get back to that place wear I felt healthy and happy in my skin." You bet you can. You have done it once. Except, maybe you will not be able to rely as much as you did on exercising. But remember: there are plenty of thin people who never exercise! Also, may I give you an…

Ah, it's perfectly fine. Plus, swimsuits get a little larger when wet ;-) ... so enjoy and strut around with pride !
-
I look normal. And it's not about your dress. I do wear orange. I just wanted you to get the idea. I am sure you do.
-
Well, that is good. Same for me. :-) That means that you try to treat others like they want to be treated, not like YOU want to be treated. And that you are fully aware that only a tiny part of the World live in an English/unilingual environment.
-
Majigurl, when someone corrects your English without being: - your boss - your secretary - your mom - your teacher - or a CLOSE friend you can certainly tell them that it is downright rude and ill-mannered. If they don't see why, and tell you they intended to be "useful", just make an unsolicited remark on their looks as…

I used to be craving for sweets, and decided to change my habits by eating non-sweet food as a snack in the afternoon. Like nuts, or vegetables and hummus or beef jerky, cheese, etc. It really helped a lot to get rid of what I think was - for me - just a bad habit.

Frankly, there is absolutely no evidence that your hair loss is related to your diet. You know, you have been dieting for months, and will continue, I understand, for a long period of time. Many, many, many things can happen, physiologically speaking, in such a long period of time. Therefore it is probably just a…

OP is 4'11 ...

Decrease your daily calorie intake. Start with a given number (say, 100, or 200 less, I don't know where you are now), stick to it for a couple of weeks, and see how it goes.

Thank you all for the replies. Well, yeah, I am in Montréal. The sidewalks are totally icy, and the temperature are still in the -20. I think I'll pass on the jogging ! ;-) But seriously, I can't wait for this cold to go away - the coldest month in the history of Quebec (ie since they record temperature). It's brutal. I…

I used to be able to, but it's gotten worse and worse. It's seriously awful. I mean, I know some of it is my fault for making some bad choices this afternoon, but still... I had eaten 1300 calories by 11am and apart from 400 calories, it was 'healthy' stuff (eggs, two 90 calorie tortillas, salmon, veggies, an apple and…

I hope you are right! I don't mind the number of the scale, in fact I am actually bigger and tighter in my clothes. It's disheartening. I just did some exercises. We'll see. I'll stop of my weight increases again.
-
Indeed, if I was losing weight, I would not be bothered either!
-
Eventually? How long did it take?
-
Thanks, I will look into that. I see that I am supposed to have 3500 mg of potassium daily. I can't see how it is possible to do that within my calories, so I think taking supplements (which I generally don't like) is an option here.
