I use a julienne peeler to make zucchini pasta noodles. Great for a spaghetti bake.

Kickboxing has been pretty effective for me as long as I give it my all. As an added bonus it keeps me from throttling my 5 year old.

They are trying to be nice. I would rather have something offered to me and have the chance to say no instead of nobody offering (or inviting). It IS hard not to give in to temptation. Maybe you can bring a healthy snack and offer to share.

If you don't like the soggy lettuce, try romaine. It's way more crunchy. Try using cucumbers instead of lettuce in a sandwich. I have sauteed cabbage, apple, and onion together with some salt and pepper for a tasty vegetable treat. Broccoli is good. Peas and corn count as a starch, not a vegetable. Same with potatoes. When…

For me, it helps to know I'm not on a diet. There is no food I CANNOT have. I just make a choice before I eat anything regarding whether I'm willing to work for it. Sometimes I am (such as the eclair I had after my kickboxing class tonight). And I STILL have 250 more calories I could eat, if I chose. To stick with it, I…

I am a 43 year old mother who works full time, PLUS runs her own business on the side. I have found that you cannot possibly FIND the time. You have to MAKE the time. It's tough. I'm blessed that my gym has a kids club, and my daughter loves it there. I take her to the gym with me and we both exercise (though hers is…

We named our daughter Ashlynn (Ashlynne, Ashlyn) because it means "vision or dream", which was perfect for a little girl who we were told we could never have. I like Beckett for a boy.

Stop drinking diet soda too, if you have not already. Aspartame actually makes you crave sweets...

The Chobani 0% greek yogurt flavors have helped me a TON with this problem. Very filling, lots of protein.

12 lbs since January 2. I can live with it. Anywhere from 5-15 lbs is a respectable number, depending on where you started. Any actually, any loss at all is something to be proud of.

If you can afford it, get a trainer. I used a trainer before my wedding and it helped a lot. For me, having someone to be accountable to makes a difference.

Did you know that most headaches are caused by dehydration and can be cured by drinking 8-12 ounces of water?

I have this problem alot. and my sister gave me a Pack-It for Christmas. It's awesome for people like us. When I have to pack without it I do raw veggies, granola, cheese sandwich, etc. String Cheese will actually stay good at room temperature for at least 24 hours, so you're good there. Also agree with others...freeze a…

Never gonna happen cause it is nut based, but it's still a "healthy" fat. LOL.

I grew up on Nutella and peanut butter sandwiches in Brazil. It is evil,, but even the evil can be accommodated occasionally if you're willing to earn it.

For many people, especially those of us who weigh more than 200lbs, the 1200 calories a day just isn't sufficient. If I do that, my body plateaus pretty quickly and won't budge after an initial weight loss. Have recently bought a body bugg, which is helping me immensely. Seeing what I actually burn in a day vs what I…

It could be that you're not eating enough. Try eating a little more for a week or so, especially if you want to maintain that workout schedule. For me, I have found that helps, even if you want to cut back the calories again after a couple of weeks. Just shakes my body up a little. You might also consider having your…

For me, one small piece of really excellent chocolate will fill the void, while tons of cheap chocolate will not. So I have that one piece. I have personally found that if I ignore a craving it only gets worse, then I end up bingeing on the food.

I definitely do the strength training. Building muscle helps burn fat, and it also is relatively compact per pound - meaning a 250 lb person with more muscle looks leaner than a 250 lb person who is mostly fat.
-
For me it takes exercising AT LEAST 4 days a week, watching my fat intake, and I usually have to eat way more protein than what MFP recommends, while trying to stay under on carbs and fat.

There's a girl at my gym who I secretly call skinny skanky. Ladies, please, if you choose not to wear panties under your workout clothes, for the LOVE OF HEAVEN, make sure your shorts are long enough to cover your nether bits, or make sure that your workout pants are a thick enough fabric to hide the "camel toe". There is…

Personally I HAVE to go at night because I'd rather sleep than eat...plus it helps me blow off my work stress so I'm a nicer person afterward. I think it's different for everyone...find what works for you. Just get there.

Eating too little as a teenager is what killed my metabolism. When you don't eat enough, your body holds on to all calories because it's not sure when it will get more. Eat and exercise, and if that doesn't work go see the doctor.

I have actually been told that having some protein within 30 minutes of the workout actually helps with muscle recovery, minimizing soreness, etc. It does seem to help me...

Steak is fine. As long as you limit your intake of red meats you will not have a problem. And some beef is leaner than chicken....depends on the cut.

Brown rice actually tastes fantastic with Chinese. In fact many restaurants` actually offer it as an option. It tastes nuttier than white rice.

I try to at least look up the calories on food before i eat so I don't get unpleasant surprises while logging. Don't always succeed. So, plan ahead of time, but log when I can find time.

The nutritionist told me that sugars in fruit and milk do not count toward total carbs.

I need and want meat. Am actually allergic to soy. GO meat!
