  • The only way I stay motivated is you MUST keep your end goal in mind EVERY MINUTE of the day. You lose sight of that and you slip into toastville real quick..
  • Lentils - google it. Ramen - cheap but loaded with sodium.
  • YOU ARE NOT ALONE! A lot of us have the same issue - my legs are like tree trunks - I look in the mirror and they just jiggle when I move, I am working on it also, they are getting smaller, slowly, all I can suggest is to walk more (briskly), do more steps (in moderation for now), and don't give up. I have been at this for…
  • That's because we are not 'wired' to eat a bowl of pure sugar or a plate of pure fat, nobody was brought up that way. Let me say: I have no problem taking a swipe of chocolate frosting out of the bowl or off the edge of a cake, but I have no desire to take a swipe of powdered sugar out of the bowl used to make that…
  • Don't laugh, but I new a guy that had 'Senator' legally in his name, his parents did that. He's around 50 now, has never run for political office, but he has told us on numerous occasions he has NO problems getting dinner reservations, hotel reservations, concert reservations, etc.
  • #1 - 'Valley Girl'. Awesome music, and Deborah Foreman looks the same today as she did back then. Also on the list: 'Stripes' was good, and that's a fact, Jack! 'Sex, Lies and Video Tape' - I am a HUGE James Spader fan - have been from day one. However, 'The Breakfast Club' has some very poignant parts in it, we discussed…
  • I kid you not, I was in a W-M about a year ago, and a young girl in front of me was buying a packet of condoms, some 'girl things', and a pregnancy test kit.
  • If it was your present to yourself for meeting your halfway goal, then do it! Do it, or come up with another present and push the piercing goal down the road, instead of a weight goal maybe a waist-size goal?
  • Here is the one thing to consider: I have seen commercials for Special K, and Cheerios, claiming to drop your cholesterol, weight, etc. but here is how this happens: If you eat Special K or Cheerios, chances are you are NOT eating something 'bad' that you would normally be eating. Special K and Cheerios may be good for you…
  • Oh, I don't know if 'obsessive' is the one word, for example I am not 'obsessive' about losing weight but I am very 'obsessive' about reading labels and controlling what I eat. And as far as people that make any kind of comments, you will learn there are two kinds of people in life: 1) those that have something to say, and…
  • If 4 days is too much then a LOT of people are going too much. 4 days is not too much. Going to the gym relaxes you and makes you happy. Tell him he is not going enough...
  • I get the same kinds of replies from people I discuss my diet with, a lot of people have, you are not alone. As long as YOU know what you want or need to eat, and it satisfies YOU, that is all you need to know. All I can suggest to make them happy sometimes is maybe eat a little less before dinner so you can eat some of…
  • It is also WHEN you eat.
  • Don't feel bad, I lost 31, and then about 4 days later I gained about 5 back. How? Why? I was pissed. I didn't do anything any differently over those 4-5 days. I stayed there about another 5 days, I was getting depressed, but still doing what I had been doing, and all of a sudden yesterday I was down 7 pounds. How? Why? I…
  • I bought hydroxycut - have not taken it - THEN I come here and figure out nope - this isn't for me. In fairness to me, I bought it before I ever came onto this website.
  • This. I am aiming to lose about 160 lbs. I was 407 about 6 weeks ago, today I am around 382. Yeah, I have a lot to lose, but I am not 'AIMING' to lose 160 lbs anytime soon. I have set realistic goals to be 350 by Memorial Day (end of May), and I'd LIKE to be 299 by 2014 YE, but my actual 'real' goal is 315. After that I…
  • Why not? Give it a try, it certainly cannot hurt you as long as you do it in moderation.
  • It ALL looks good! I crave a large combo pizza, a double-cheeseburger or two - or three, a 52 oz Pepsi, waffle fries, a huge enchilada platter, BBQ ribs: You just ALWAYS have to remind yourself CONSTANTLY of your goals - and you will either choose to meet them, or not. That said, there are several '90 calorie' and '100…
  • Maybe you can't get to the gym for the next month or so, or at least on some kind of a schedule, but you CAN watch your diet and also do several five-ten-fifteen minute mini workouts, like go for an intensive walk for 15 min or go up and down stairs for 5 minutes, or some 'sitting in a chair' workout(s).
  • Stop using that as an excuse, you can lose as much or more weight without one lousy recipe, not having her recipe will not make or break your diet, you should be able to find thousands of alternatives.
  • Yes, it has aspertame in it. (Great Value - Wally World brand - 1/3rd less $$ than CL) I guess when you balance the convenience with the cost, it's hard to 'have everything'.
  • You also have to think about the dog - it's not fair to him to be put in a position where strangers can fool with him or even steal him. I would think you should be able to find a staff member to walk you to your car, and to find someone else walking in and get out of your car when you see them. I don't know how you would…
  • I just buy the box of packets of sugar-free lemonade, open and dump all of them into one container with a lid about the size of a coffee cup, and then dump a little into water every day, sometimes twice a day. You can't have stuff at home OR at work, you need it in both places. Hopefully you don't buy bottled water (unless…
  • I was introduced to the Muscletech powder that Sam's Club sells, vanilla, and it is by far the best I have found. I am a chocolate freak so I have always tried the 'chocolate' ones, but for some reason they have a hard time mixing when you add water or milk. For some reason vanilla ones don't have that issue. My .02.
  • I have read this too, about 'carb loading' before a run, but I don't know enough about carbs to have a personal opinion, as far as 'carbs' vs. 'complex carbs' go.
  • A 'day off' doesn't mean you should abandon everything you have been doing as far as watching what you eat. To ME, a 'day off' means I can eat one or two - or even three things I crave, but had cut out of my diet altogether. For example, I used to eat a swiss cheese mushroom burger, fries and Pepsi every other day -…

  • I agree. One problem is there are sooo many foods replicated in the 'choose food' list, and a lot of them have slight variances in the calorie/fat/protein/sodium count, enough to make you want to make up your own. Look up Kellog's Special K Brownie Bites - there must be ten of them listed.
