I fast from 5:30 pm to noon the next day. Once you are use to less carbs its not hard. I dont miss breakfast at all. Sometimes i make bullet coffee (coconut oil in black coffee or tea) that helps with hunger. When i do this and eat low carb the weight goes down.

I have the same problem and now do the 5:2 diet. It's fasting until supper twice a week. I had just commented to my husband that the morning after a fast day I feel like I have had caffeine - energized and ready to go! I also sleep very well. Not sure why this happens.

I am probably close... and trying to get back to it. I usually have a great week and then the weekend slips me up. Do you fast 5 days and eat 500 calories at supper? Or do you do two days 500 calories and the other days 1200?

I have much more energy Feel happier - more positive Enjoy exercise like biking, roller blading - I use to avoid exercise Can reach my toes to put on nail polish!

This might be a dumb question but I'll ask it anyhow......does it make a big difference in how quick you lose weight if you eat at a greater deficit? Or does it work just as well to eat only 500 calories less per day?

Thanks all...my husband also encouraged me to go out and rollerblade again and even though I "wasn't in the mood" , I gave it a try and went for an hour. It felt good. I then measured out my popcorn and butter to stay within my calories so I'm hoping this is a turn for the better.

I have read that it is fine. I go inline skating for 4km and actually feel great afterwards! I have heard that lifting weights is also good during a fast.

About a month ago I noticed my male cousin was a lot thinner. I mentioned it to his wife and she said he started making and eating soup all the time for lunches and even in the evening when he wanted a snack. It's homemade soup. I'm sure it could work as long as you ate careful what kind of soup.

We are never to old to exercise. My in-laws are 92 and 93 and they walk outside spring, summer and fall and use ski poles for balance.
