  • I haven't tried to make any yet but then again I was never an avid baker (or cook for that matter) I did just make a dijon glazed salmon that was freaking amazing though. I am definitely making that one again! I think I'll just stick to the occasional 85% dark cacao or get my sweet fix from fruit
  • I'm having issues kicking the booze :( I just started 2 weeks ago but also because of a suspected autoimmune disease (still looking to see which one) you can add me too if you'd like
  • Just started doing paleo two weeks ago when the doc suspected I might have an autoimmune disease. Still trying to figure out which one but I have to say I feel TONS better lately! It's really kept me going. Not to mention the 11 pound weight loss lol. I am not entirely strict as I've had some extra sharp aged cheddar but…
  • In! I weighed myself this morning and doubt it will change much as of tomorrow :) SW: (This round anyway lol) 155lbs CW: 150.6lbs GW (for feb) 145lbs My actual goal weight is 140 so I might not be able to get 5 pounds lost in feb due to only having 10 pounds to go, but we'll see!
  • Same boat as well :) My realistic goal is 140, because I'm generally happy at that weight, though 135 is nice I'm not going to push it. I always gain in November and December so I'm just trying to get all that off. I definitely have the problem where I don't look "bad" per se at 150 but I cant fit in my 6's. 10 pounds to…
  • Week 4 Goal: 3500 Day 1:0 calories burned (Too busy - didn't make it to the gym :( ) Day 2: calories burned (how they were burned) Day 3: calories burned (how they were burned) Day 4:calories burned (how they were burned) Day 4: calories burned (how they were burned) Day 6:calories burned (how they were burned) Day…
  • Week 3 Goal: 3500 Day 1: 622 calories (Les Mills Body Attack/Swimming) Day 2: 550 calories burned (40 minutes elliptical/Swimming) Day 3: 488 calories burned (60 minute Roller Derby Bout - I probably burned more then that, but I can't use my HRM...) Day 4: 0 calories burned (REST) Day 5: 0 calories burned (Apparently I…
  • I'm 5'4 (edging on 5'5 though) currently 152 and right this instant am wearing a size 8 from Maurices and a size large Dr. Who t-shirt from Spencers (those shirts are sized weird...don't normally wear a large shirt LOL). Sizing is annoying and stupid...all I know is I'm trying to get back into my closet full of 6's and…
  • Just wanted to add that even HRM aren't the end all be all of accuracy when it comes to exercise calorie burns :( I wish there was a magic calculator that would tell you everything to the exact decimal point but pretty sure they don't have those (at least for public consumption anyway). Sooo...yes it is wise even while…
  • I definnitely agree with the darker wash advice! I too have big legs/butt in porportion to the rest of my body :) I call them German peasant legs LOL! Keep the jean suggestions coming, I haven't really found any that I absolutely love yet (except for maybe Maurices, I seem to like one of there cut of jeans).
  • I know how you feel :) Part of the reason I'm back here trying to lose weight is becasue I broke my ankle and went back to crap eating habits. But I was off for like 4 monhts + :( Good to know that a month doesn't make a whole lot of difference though!
  • Just realized I posted Day 6 on Day 5 thread...oops... Week 3 Goal: 3500 Day 1: 622 calories (Les Mills Body Attack/Swimming) Day 2: 550 calories burned (40 minutes elliptical/Swimming) Day 3: 488 calories burned (60 minute Roller Derby Bout - I probably burned more then that, but I can't use my HRM...) • Not necessarily in the exact same boat but I do know how annoying it is to lose/regain/lose/regain vicious awful cycle! Most of my ups and downs were the results of pregnancies (which as a mom of 4 you can relate!) Last one was the result of a broken ankle and too many social functions/lack of exercise! I did really well…
  • I was thinking of switching to TDEE - 20% and that is an interesting idea of taking the TDEE of sedentary and then adding the exercise on top of it (and eat back most of those calories, but not all just to be sure). My TDEE sedentary is 1410, but yeah, MFP likes to put me at 1250 if I put a pound a week, but I do exercise…
  • Yup! Soooo true! Just ask my hubby how much i've spent lately on workout stuff :)
  • That's why I typically overestimate my calories and underestimate my exercise so that hopefully all of the innacuracies even out in the end. Hopefully... But yes, definitely frustrating that a lot of the database entries are likely innacurate :(
  • Awesome thread! I always used a 5 pound range for weight for this very reason. My range is 130 - 135, as long as I stay somewhere in there all of my clothes fit well and I think I look good :) And if you can keep it in this range (and adjust when necessary if you are trending upwards) it makes maintenance a whole lot…
  • Aw sweetie this is so hard to hear!!! Seriously, don't give up on it. People are mean. Period. It's horrible, but unavoidable. There is nothing to be gained from giving up (except for you know...well...weight) Take those horrible comments and use them as FUEL to keep going. And maybe pick another gym that is a little more…

  • Fun side note...the less you eat the faster you get drunk LOL ETA: Less volume to get you drunk = less calories from alcohol...
  • Agreed with others on this topic :) I'm a drinker, always will be LOL and as long as I'm honest (or at least mostly teehee) it hasnt' affected my weight loss. Actually as long as you drink a mixer with 0 calories, vodka or light rum has less calories then wine. I believe it is 90 calories for 1 1/2 ounces of vodka. I am…
  • Hoping to get to a class tonight even though I'm exhausted! Send will power my way LOL!
  • I'm with ya! Love In Flames, I have three songs by them on my current Elliptical workout playlist :) I also love industrial/electro to work out to, it's got the "beats" of the more dancy music but with the menacing voices and lyrics LOL
  • Love me some Irish punk!!!! I also like Irish Drinking Song by Buck O' Nine.
  • Nice! I freaking love the Final Countdown...not going to lie and don't care if it makes me a huge dork LOL! We play it for the last jam on all of our home roller derby bouts. It's freaking awesome! I have some, but looking at the selections here no one will likely have heard of them. But they rock anyway. Pro-Test - Skinny…
