  • Found some dance videos that make exercising fun. They have ones set to musical soundtracks like Grease, Mamma Mia, Hamilton, Disney. etc. The time just flies by because the music is so fun.

  • @momwow17 I think a water challenge would be great. It is actually the hardest part for me. I do drink tea , but it doesn’t “count” since it’s caffeinated. I just bought some decaf tea, so we’ll see how that goes. I’m sorry you’ve been so stressed. But, you posted in another area that you went shopping for healthy food for…
  • @momwow17 Great planning and prepping. You’re completely set up for success. Hope you have a wonderful walk with hubby! Sounds like a lovely day so far.
  • @momwow17 A treadmill is a great idea! I live in a tiny house with a giant dog, so I can’t go that route. I just know the dog would get hurt somehow. He’s like a bull in a china shop. But, it’s a brilliant idea to have the exercise at your fingertips, no matter what the weather. Avery is definitely my biggest cheerleader,…
  • Progress report week 3: Starting Weight 01/01/23: 250 lbs. Weight last week: 245 lbs. Current Weight 01/08/23: 242 lbs . Weight Lost : 3 lbs. Total Gone: 8 lbs. Progress on other goals: Pretty much the same as last week. I continued logging my food again this week. I stayed within my calories with the exception of one day…
  • @momwow17 A couple of weeks is just a blip in time when compared to the rest of our lives. As long as you change the direction now, you’ll be just fine. Think of it as a fresh, brand new start. You can do this. 😃
  • @Marilynsretired Wow, I’m so sorry about your kidneys. That’s so scary, I hope you are doing well. I never really equated weight loss with water intake that way. I knew it helps to keep you from feeling as hungry, helps keep digestion flowing smoothly, good for skin etc. I probably tax my kidneys due to improper hydration.…
  • @momwow17 I completely understand the way you feel. I need to stay away from cakes, doughnuts, cookies, etc. I feel worse when I eat them. I love healthy foods ( thank goodness), so fruits, veggies, etc aren’t an issue. It’s just allowing myself a treat every now and then vs. daily that is a constant struggle. But, we’ll…
  • My biggest struggle is water. It has nothing to do with flavor (or lack of). I’m just not thirsty…at all…for anything. This has been a problem since childhood ( including hospital visits/tests/bladder and kidney troubles etc) I know water is essential. I know the benefits of water, and the dangers of not enough. I just…
  • @Marilynsretired Funny Cartoon!! Also, reminds me that I really need to drink more water! Although, I think I’ll opt for drinking out of my water bottle or cup! 😃
  • Progress report week 2: Starting Weight 01/01/23: 250 lbs. Weight last week: 248 lbs. Current Weight 01/08/23: 245 lbs . Weight Lost : 3 lbs. Total Gone: 5 lbs. Progress on other goals: I continued logging my food again this week. I stayed within my calories with the exception of one day. I didn’t make it to the gym (…
  • @momwow17 I hope you enjoyed your walk! I really need to get movement back into my life. Right now, I’ve been managing getting my eating under control. I promised my son we’d start at the gym this coming weekend. We waited a bit because there was a viscous stomach bug going around town. The gym didn’t seem like such a hot…
  • So, today I’m “back in control “, but yesterday…not so much. My willpower is going to be tested on a daily basis. Three doors down from where I work is a new business, They make those little deep-fried mini doughnuts with sugar or cinnamon like you get at the fairgrounds. That’s literally all they make. They specialize in…
  • @momwow17 I used to hike up to 5 miles on all different terrain with no pr. Then, in February 2022, I did something to my foot akin to plantar fasciitis. I could barely hobble short distances. By the end of the summer, I was devastated that it wasn’t improving. My choices were to add cushioning to dull the pain and add…
  • @momwow17 Good luck with your interviews! I’m sure you’ll do great. Your dinner plans sound like fun, and a great way to distract yourself while waiting to hear back.
  • @momwow17 It’s actually two jobs back to back ( part time- tutor, then full time-bookkeeper ). Unfortunately, I sit in the car to and from work, 30 min each way. Then, I sit at work. That’s a lot of time on my butt. Not great for my health. I don’t work weekends though, so that’s a plus.
  • @momwow17 I’ve played the weight game many times too. The last time (2020) I lost almost 60 pounds of the over 100 I need to lose. I swore I wouldn’t gain it back…that if I lost control, I would never let it go past a 5 lb gain. I mean, why would I do that to myself? Fast forward to today. All of the weight back, plus a…
  • I do the same thing. I find if I pre-log my day, I won’t accidentally miscalculate and run out of calories too soon. Also, I will make better choices when it’s not on the fly.
  • @momwow17 . My younger son is 12 and super excited that he can join a gym now. Hopefully, his enthusiasm will keep me motivated after an 11 hour work day. Not sure I’d make it there on my own.
  • @momwow17 I give you a lot of credit. I don’t know how I would fare if I worked at the restaurant where you work. That’s a lot of self control you have! You seem to have everything under control though and you’re off to a great start for the new year!
  • My “number goal” for this year is 180-190 ( or at least in Onederland). My other goals are: 1) Walk 5Ks with my son. Right now that’s a long way off. 2) Go hiking again ( it’s been a couple of years) with both of my sons and my husband. 3) Get back to the “other side” of the clothing store.
  • Hi! My name is Diana. I’m 52 years old, and this is me as of Jan. 1, 2023. 250 pounds. Hoping my next New Year’s picture will be around 180-190 range ( or at least in Onederland).
  • Progress report week 1: Starting Weight 01/01/23: 250 lbs. Current Weight 01/08/23: 248 lbs . Weight Lost : 2 lbs. Total Gone: 2 lbs. Progress on other goals: I started logging my food again this week. I stayed within my calories. Intention for week 2: Joined a gym. Try to get to the gym with my son three times. ( I work a…
