  • @martaindale omg too funny. I've never seen an opossum
  • @quilteryoyo thx for the mention. Yes looking forward to that island with one cottage on it. My dog is so funny there. If I say 'let's go for a walk' he bounce up and down and then happily follow me around its perimeter (of about 300m!) , thrilled that he doesn't have to be leashed. It is in the Kawartha highlands in…
  • Hi All, Hurray I met my goal: I did not eat well this month, so next month, I will need to set a goal to lose weight, anything! I will be on a small island and at a cottage for part of next month, so I may set a goal for a certain number of sets of body weight exercises (squats, lunges, push-ups, planks, vee-sits etc),…
  • GM. Just updating with my tally. I haven't been eating within target :( But at least I'm on track with my kms goal.
  • GM all. 5 km wog done this morning. husband and son both have covid, for the first time, and are isolating upstairs and downstairs. So no Strength training for me (usually in basement). I guess I can do BW stuff.

  • Thx for the welcome! @shanaber Happy to be here. Love the busy thread and the support. The pictures from your runs that you post are inspirational! Happy 4th to America today! Enjoy the special day. (And Happy Canada day to me a few days ago!) I screwed up ticker saving TWICE. Duh! First I forgot to copy the address, next…
  • OMG What am I not reading? I tend to get 5 books out of library at a time and read the first chapter of each to see what grabs me. Plus I read a book aloud after dinner to my son and DH. And another aloud just to my son! Just finished. This Time Tomorrow (Straub). Time travel book sort of. Not an adventure type one more…

  • Forgot to record where my ticker was, so I am replacing it here! D'oh
  • I joined the running monthly challenge. Want to reach 100 Kms this month. Also trying to 'start with why' better mobility, better mood, heart health, less incidence of disease, more respect (self and external) 🏆
  • I am death to all house plants. (Is that the right idea..)
  • Testing the ticker. [/url]
  • Hi all. So lovely to see a busy thread! I will try to do 100 kms this month with a mix of walking, jogging, hiking and incline treadmill jogging. Did 4.5 k yesterday, and about the same today. 9 k so far.
  • Hi all. I joined this site 5 years ago but never really got into it. Hope to join and stay until I am truly fit as a fiddle this time :)
  • Don't stop me now - queen Great for running a race.
  • Hi Aimee, I think 99% of us go through the same problem with maintaining a weight loss. I personally lost 52.5 lbs and then a couple of years later regained 20 or so. I have kept off 35 lbs for 5 years, but never been able to shed the last 15 or so. i yoyo around between 170 and 180. Try to focus on the positive fact that…
  • I like these ideas. My kryptonite is ice cream (any flavour) or milk chocolate. If either is in the house, I am doomed. For example, a milk chocolate bunny that was supposed to be my son's for Easter, got devoured by me this week. :( Dark chocolate for some reason is safe around me. I enjoy it but don't binge on it. So I…
  • Stuffed mushrooms? Stuffed endive? Asparagus or melon wrapped with proscuitto? Chicken skewers with dip? Shrimp ring?
  • Definitely a combo of the two. If a muscle is sore it means it is retaining water. When mine are sore, I weigh at least 2 lbs above what I normally weigh and sometimes as much as 4 lbs. I'm guessing that if an injury is sore it would mean the same thing. And every restaurant meal will contain tons of sodium causing a day…
  • Hi there, Exercise really is hardest in the beginning. After about 3 months it becomes a habit that you simply don't want to break. My thoughts are that you should just do it whether you feel like it or not and think about how proud you will be after it gets easier. I would suggest 6 days a week. Don't always take the path…
  • You're a zen runner!.... Just like my husband who has never seen the point of racing and has many bad things to say about going for a run with 10,000 other people. Good for you for not succumbing to the craziness of trying to always get a new PB. Sadly, I am slow too, but would like to get faster.
  • Hurry out and get a fitbit. I lost a bunch of weight a few years ago and slowly gained back 20 lbs and then couldn't get it off. I adore the fibit that I got a few weeks ago because I am finally taking off the weight I gained. But I am most excited about using the fitbit when I get to maintenance, because it gives real…
  • Just amazing! Congratulations and good luck on finding the finish line. Even if you stopped here, you look awesome. But i know what it feels like to want to finish....
