In that position you will have more strain on your shoulders. It may help if you use less weight. If you are already using a light weight or no weights, do not squat down as far.

I started out at 418 lbs and have lost 70 lbs since last November. I would start with short walks like other people have said. Also, a DVD like P90 (the pre P90X dvd's) would be good. They are around 30 minutes and you can modify the moves. It also includes a diet plan that would be helpful. Good Luck!!

EAS makes a light shake you can get at Sams. 110 cal, 17g protein, 4g carbs and 3g of fat. If you want more protein, the Premier shakes HerbieSue mentioned are good as well.

Back in college when I was playing ball, my max bench was 510 and squat was over 600. I don't even try to do that much weight anymore. I weighed about 315 at the time.

I did the Power 90 before starting P90X. I only did it for two months before switching to P90X, but it helped out a lot. If you haven't worked out in a while I would recommend doing Power 90 first. It's obviously more basic than P90X, but it gives you a good foundation with basic moves and increased strength and endurance.
