Hi All, I'm also a newbie on the 12WBT and am really looking forward to it. I'm modifying the meal plans slightly becuase my partner is away most of the time, so am still following the recipes and cooking for 2, but will just be having repeated days. This morning I had the apple muesli, not that different to what I'd…

I'm not a professional so won't give you any set number, i think you just need to listen to your body.

I've never heard of this before but will be googling it now! Thanks ladies!

personally I love roasted pumpkin with my dinner, or mashed, combine with 1 potato for a better consistency, and because it is quite moist, I don't add milk or butter - bonus!

I confess I am 28 and love his latest album. There's a track by Drapht which mentions something about a midlife crisis, and listening to Miley Cyrus...this is my version!

where is your shop? I had my dream job, divemaster in Egypt...but my aspirations changed...now I want to go back to that, but now on the Great Barrier Reef/Ningaloo Reef here in Australia

Sounds like the strap needs a good wash. If that doesn't fix it you might need to replace the strap as the receptors might not be working properly anymore.
-
well done! you are making amazing progress and you can really see that in these pics! Enjoy your holiday!

I eat the whole egg. My naturopath actually told me that it's better to eat the whole thing, because they work together to release all of the nutrients etc (don't remember the exact facts). Guess it's personal preference though.

Great effort! Well done! Keep up the good work and the scales will work themselves out...at least you are seeing a change!

I have runkeeper and love it...you can turn on 'coaching' and set it up to tell you your split times at different intervals, i usually set it to 5 minutes. Also afterwards shows your route on a map and minute by minute breakdowns.

there are quite a few Jetts gyms which i think are 24 hour - depends if there's one near you. I go to Fitness First and there's a good selection of weights (machines and free weights).

I'll be in on this too, and am also in Australia - have labelled Summer 2012/2013 the 'Summer of Bikini's' - I want to finally have the body I've wanted for ages, and will be in my bikini as often as possible this summer! OK - so, SW - 80Kg's Goal Weight - 70Kg's - not a massive loss (although it seems a long way at the…

have a feeling this will help me get through those burpees too!

Hi, I'm doing the Mother's Day classic on Sunday in Perth too! I'm doing the 8km as a warm up for the HBF Run just like you! I ran an 8km race a few weeks ago (the Gallipoli run in Kings Park), and from my time there, i'm aiming for a time of around 40 minutes. Good luck!!

totally agree on the jawline and collarbone comment! I love it! Wish I had taken proper before photos...but I can see the difference from other general photo's.

Congratulations Brooke and what a great time! My first 1/2 marathon is not until August, so I will be battling the cold mornings with you! What an amazing achievement, well done!
-
well you've made the decision to start...stay determined and you will achieve your goals! Log everything, and look in the forums for advice and inspiration. Good luck!
-
Yep i'm on the lookout for friends offering support and advice! Have got 10.5Kg's to go - recent holiday bolstered that figure :-( . Am in Perth...don't hold it against me :-)
-
I usually try to go for the sashimi (raw fish, without rice) and edamamme (soy beans). I'm very jealous...it's been ages since I've had sushi...enjoy!

Great News! I know how much it can impact on your lifestyle. I suffered from Eczema as a kid, and that has pretty much cleared up although i get the occasional flare up, however last year I developed Psoriasis on my palm and I felt very self conscious about it, sometimes friends who first noticed, would say things like…

I love breakfast! It's probably my favourite meal!! I alternate between :- - protein 1st cereal w. hilo milk - weetbix and hilo milk w. fruit - a poached egg on toast with baby spinach - cottage cheese on a piece of toast with lettuce/baby spinach and a few cherry tomatoes and if i've been training first thing I usually…

Hi i'm from Perth...feel free to add me and we can motivate each other!
-
BeautyFromPal I totally agree! I can see the difference in pictures, but when I look in the mirror, I still think I look the same! Friends/Work colleagues started to notice after about 5kg's but got heaps of comments at around 10kg's - which was a big motivator for me.

Just trying to help out...i never said you don't burn flab through lifting...we're not professionals (or most of us aren't) and we're not expecting professional answers...just the help of fellow members.
-
first you need to burn the flab - by doing cardio - then work on your abs once they will be seen :-) The Bridge position is great for core strength, and your not on your back, i'm sure if you google it you can get an image of the correct position, but make sure your bum is down and you body is straight and flat.

This has happened to me too...the same friend who had told me I was looking great, was continually trying to get me to skip a work out, and told me i was addicted to the gym. Well, i didn't get to this stage by not working out...it took a lot of hard work! We just have to rise above it, and keep going towards our goals for…

This is so true, If i have a big workout i am usually a lot hungrier the next day. Listen to your body and make sure you are re-fuelling after your workout, the first 15-30 minutes is a prime time to re-fuel as your body is burning energy at a higher rate.
-
Congratulations to you both! What an inspiration you both are! It's great to see the after photo's of someone at about the same weight i am trying to get to! Great motivation...and your story got me out the door for a walk after dinner! Keep up the good work and you will be at your final goal before you know it!
