  • The smile says it all -- awesome job!!!
  • They're based in the UK but they do ship internationally - Bravissimo - go to their website, they have amazing sports bras and regular bras for us well endowed gals. My favorite brand is called Shock Absorber and they have a load of different styles and colors.
  • It's definitely two sizes now. In the US I'm a 10 and in the UK I'm a 14. Though towards the end of my six years in England I noticed that different stores were changing their sizes - i.e. in some stores a 14 is a 40 (European) but in others they make the 14 a European 42.
  • I follow the Primal Blueprint and often go to a site called Mark's Daily Apple. There are loads of recipes there and also in the forum. If you sign up for his free newsletter you will also be send two reader-created cookbooks (they are PDFs) and those will give you loads of ideas. I guess you are also not eating cheese?…
  • No matter what the weather, I'd rather be outside. I actually started running outside during a heatwave and I kind of loved it! Of course, you have to take care of yourself, make sure you're properly hydrated, etc. but I actually like running in not so nice weather, like when it's raining, it makes me feel like a total bad…
  • Hey Dukanites! So I think we're all ladies here so I'm just going to ask - how do you guys stick to the plan during TOM? I'm coming up on my first period on Dukan (next week but usually the week before is when I really feel lousy) and all I want to do is eat bread! I almost caved this morning and had a bagel - but I…
  • I'm not sure I have a specific answer to your question but I definitely don't go by BMI. If I did, what they say would be healthy for me would be totally unrealistic and I would look and feel horrible (not sure my body would even let me get that low!)!!!! I think BMI is flawed because it doesn't take muscle into account.…
  • I was on a major plateau until I started looking more closely at my macros. I fiddled with my percentages of carbs/fat/protein and I finally found a good ratio that works for me. Maybe that would help?
  • I don't know anything about the Flat Belly Diet, but since I have lowered my intake of carbs (still eat them, just not as many!) the biggest difference is that my stomach is getting flatter and flatter!
  • I'm in week 2 and really liking it. I did Atkins when I was younger and HATED it. I am a breadaholic and my favorite food is pizza...so for a long time the thought of Dukan was just impossible. But I have a lot of friends, male and female, who have had success on it so I decided to give it a go. Some days are better than…

  • I absolutely could not live without eggs/egg whites. I love that you can add so many things to scrambled eggs/an omelette and easily create a healthy meal. If I am having an omelette I usually use one full egg and 2/3 whites and try to limit myself to two yolks a day for cholesterol reasons. HTH!
  • Lunges, not even close. Also good to see so many people share my hate ;)
  • I've been doing low carb for about two weeks and it's really working - my stomach hasn't been this flat for a long time! I still get carbs from veg and low fat dairy, but I try to keep it to between 50-100 grams. I am a breadaholic and my favourite food is pizza, so some days are a challenge but seeing the results makes me…
  • I am also moving to the Bay Area! But all the way from England, so we are packing up the house (international movers come tomorrow), crossing fingers on the green card, looking for work and I'll be a month without my bathroom scale and kitchen scale... I'm feeling just like you - how the HECK am I going to do this?!?! But…
  • I think most people on here would tell you (and I would agree) that going over on protein is not a bad thing (and ditto for fiber). I almost always go over on protein and it doesn't bother me (in fact, when I need to give myself a little kick, I up my protein). Especially if you're working out your body will need it. I…
  • Hiya! This website has a lot of good recipes (click on the recipe link on the right). It's a Dukan Diet info site so the recipes are all low carb and of course anyone can use them or at least use them to get ideas. HTH! http://thedukandietsite.com/
  • Hi fellow Dukan-ers! I'm on day 9 (did attack for 4 days since I want to lose about 15 pounds) and am down 6.5 pounds, which I am SO excited about since the scale has not moved down since April... Anyway, here is a great site I found that has a lot of good info on it. I use it a lot since I actually have not bought the…
  • Well last night I had to take two at once because was worried the pill I took the night before was not absorbed (only a few hours after taking it I started throwing up from some dodgy food...). So far today I don't feel bloated at all. But this is literally the first time I've had to take two pills at once and I can…
  • The pill doesn't make you gain weight but you have to find one that is right for you. I've been on some kinds that have bloated me, one that made me puke for a week, and others that just made me feel weird. I spoke to a friend about it and she was like - don't suffer with a pill that makes you feel gross! I think a lot of…
  • I had to reply after seeing your (OP) comment relating your brother's situation to a drug addict and you are right. My sister was a drug addict. It was hell trying to figure out how to get her to deal with her addiction and it almost tore my family apart. We all had different ways to try to get her to see what she was…
  • First of all, you look great and I bet you feel great too. What an accomplishment, you should feel so proud!!!!! Second, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these pics! NKOTB will be in my heart always (Jordan was always my fav!). When I was 12 my friend won a radio contest to go see them live in NY and meet them backstage (we lived in…
  • Was just in Venice a few weeks ago! My advice is to walk as much as you can. Also, traditional Italian meals go: anipasti, starter, pasta, meat, dessert - DO NOT feel like you have to eat all courses! The pasta portions are actually on the small side because of this. I usually tried to order a nice, meat or veg-based…
  • Not for the faint of heart, but when I practice Bikram yoga I definitely notice my tunny getting flatter. I've also recently cut my carbs down (not out completely, I couldn't survive without them!) and have seen the biggest difference in the stomach area.

  • I've been dealing with this too and I agree with whats_her_name - higher than the zone means you'll burn loads of calories but not necessarily fat. Working out in the target zone is the fat burning zone. When I run the exact same thing happens to me but I don't want to slow down just for the sake of being in the target…
  • I just gave my leftover yolks to my dog. But if you don't have a dog I would look into egg beaters or liquid yolks. I would do that if I didn't have a dog, I hate seeing the yolks go to waste!
  • Frightening - there were some big differences there! Also nice to see my alma mater in the news - go Tufts!!!
  • Just got my Polar FT4 a few weeks ago and I love it. I didn't want anything fancy, just something that showed me an accurate calorie burn, and this does the trick. Mine was a gift, but I think it was purchased on Amazon for around $60.
  • My sister's nutritionist told her to drink milk after workouts. She was drinking a protein shake but the nutritionist said she would rather see my sis drink something more natural and that milk had the right combo of macros that her body needed after a workout. My sis lost 60 pounds just exercising and following the…
  • Move as much as possible, pay attention to the "I'm full" signs your body gives you and don't feel like you have to finish everything on your plate (remember those massive American portions!). If you go out to eat don't be afraid to ask for a doggie bag (I'm an American living in London and I know it's not really done here…
  • I just got my HRM and found that some things were way off (like walking my dog and lifting weights) but some things were very close, like within 10-40 calories (step class). I would consider a HRM if you can. You can find not too expensive ones on Amazon and ebay. If that's not an option and you're nervous about what MFP…
